5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for my 5 year old.

I get these types of books for over the school holidays so my child can practice reading at the right level when he doesn't have books from school. This is definitely one of the more interesting ones and he really enjoys all the facts in it.It's several "books" in one, each with chapters, contents, glossary, index and learning guidelines as you always get with this series.I would say it spans Oxford Reading Tree levels 4-5 (blue and green) as they get more difficult as you get through the book. The Read with Oxford stages are not the same as the scheme they use at school. It has been a good level for him to read over the summer and the first term of year 1 but I'm sure he will keep coming back to it for a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for science mad kids

Bought for my 6 year old who's very into science/extinction/nature to get him more into independent reading. He loves it. It's very colourful and has lots of pictures but plenty of words for him to read too. Some are beyond him actually reading (dinosaur names) but he can generally work it all out based on a combination of the letters and pictures.
