I got this guide so I could explore some nice areas of Scotland.Good quality quide, clear and informative walks descriptions (including distance, height gain, time, parking facilities, terrain and OS map information) and easy to read route maps (with scale and key). Great selection of short and long, easy and difficult to choose from.There is also a Further Information section at the back of the guide including info on Outdoor Access Code, Parking, Dogs, Deer Stalkinga and even a short glossary of Scottish names.

Wherever i go walking i always buy a pathfinder book for area. Instructions and little maps are excellent. The person who has written the instuctions has definitely walked the route. Detailed and clear.

These walks present a good variety of length and style and cover the area well. They are described as circular but nearly half are actually linear walks where you return by the same route. So although you start and finish at the same place they are not really circular in the sense I understand it. For that reason I dropped a star in my rating.Nonetheless, they are good walks and the descriptions and maps are clear and effective. I live in the area and have done several of the routes before but there were quite a few new ones and variations on old favourites.The book is a good size for fitting in a jacket pocket or rucksack lid for convenient access on trail.
