5.0 out of 5 stars Imaginative recipes
Great present for someone having to give up alcohol.
5.0 out of 5 stars Classy
Bought it as a birthday present for my T total niece. Said she loves it, so based the star rating on that. To me the recipes looked a bit complicated and a lot of effort, but sure they’re worth it. Looks smart
4.0 out of 5 stars Attractive presentation, somewhat limited
Let me preface by saying I do drink alcohol, but occasionally prefer/need to stay dry- or entertain guests who do. With this in mind, and a number of failed experiments dropping the alcoholic components of typical cocktails, I pre-ordered 'Dry'. The design was attractive and it looked promising, despite the author being unknown to me and the cocktail scene.Certainly it is a good looking book, in my opinion at least, it looks good on the shelf in my bar or on the coffee table with a minimalist design and hardback cover. It is, however, relatively short; only 143 pages, much of which comprises the introduction, equipment and ingredients section, along with several full page pictures. Whilst these sections are largely well-written, the content is fairly standard for anyone who owns any other cocktail book. Still, the photos are very high quality, nicely framed and complimentary to the recipes.I haven't tried all of the recipes, but those I did tended to work out fairly well and came out mostly balanced- I did tweak some to my liking; but that's what cocktails are all about for me. The ingredients are easily obtainable and not on the prohibitively expensive or rare end of the scale, a problem I found with the 'Dead Rabbit' book. One aspect I did have a problem with, however, was the somewhat heavy use of the drink 'Seedlip', a sort of non-alcoholic gin type mix. I understand why the author subbed this in, generally where one might otherwise use gin or genever, to achieve an earthy botanical taste in the drink. I despise this stuff. Of course, this is personal preference, but I've yet to find anyone who enjoys drinking it. I've not yet tried, but I'd imagine simply infusing with juniper berries and other botanicals to reach the desired flavour would be preferable to splashing out on a bottle of either Seedlip Spice or Garden. That said, there are ways around ingredients you don't like, and you can either follow these recipes to the letter and make mostly fairly tasty drinks, or you can experiment and play around with it.For a fair price, this is a nicely presented foundation to construct a number of solid non-alcoholic drinks.
5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of ideas
Little book full of ideas for those who choose not to have alcohol.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad
Nice selection of drinks to try out. Some more elaborate than others.I've given it 3 stars as it neither disappoints or excels.I have in Kindle version but I have flicked through a hard copy and quality is nice.Makes a perfect stocking filler or inspiration for those non alcoholic drinking guests.

Bought for a friend trying to reduce alcohol intake, she loved it .
5.0 out of 5 stars Great!!
So many variations in the book and looks really classy too!
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing book for non-drinkers or someone taking a break from alcohol
Purchased for my mum. Great recipes and good description of tools and methods for making cocktails
Move over cocktails! Mocktails are in!!
I use to be a big drinker until I realized what it was doing to my body, emotions and relationships. I always felt like the odd man out at a party because I would pick up a water over a beer.Thank God people are starting to see that booze isn’t the way to go anymore and not providing a stellar Mocktails at a party or restaurant makes those non-drinkers feel left out/singled out. PLEASE offer a non-alcoholic option that is just as crowd pleasing as the signature cocktail! This book is AWESOME. Not only is the book very nicely made, it gives some great adult mocktails that don’t make you feel like a kid ordering a kiddie cocktail. Gone are the days of only offering Shirley Temples!
As a gift
The best gift is a book. Bought this one and sent as an anonymous Santa to Russia. The receiver was really happy and sent me few pictures of the cocktails :)
Wow - so many great recipes! I don't even know where to start
Wow - so many great recipes! I don't even know where to start. My current favorite? Thai Coconut Tea (over ice). My pro-tip? Use half the sugar the recipe calls for. So many creative recipes. I can't wait to try them all!
Love the book content
I have already tried a few recipes from this book and love it. My only complaint is that I bought this used, and the condition was worse than advertised. I was going to use it as a piece of decor on my husband's new bar, but it is not in good enough shape for that.
Obsessed
This book is already ragged and I’ve only had it one month ni use it for everything! It’s my af cocktail bible.
