I love the illustrations in this new book and there is so much in it for children to find out and ask about. Should be lovely for a bedtime story or for a young reader to enjoy. As a Grandma I love it!

Another gorgeous story (both the story itself and the illustrations) from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. Jonty Gentoo is a brave, adventurous lovable penguin character who we loved. Loved the educational side of this one too with the clues that suggest Jonty has swam the wrong way and ended up at the North Pole, such as the polar bear and the northern lights. We were able to talk about geography and the wildlife that features in the book as well as enjoy the beautiful story. We all really enjoyed it. It would make a great animation too! Excellent.

I love all of Julia Donaldson’s books. I have all of them, mostly those with Alex (?) Schoeffler as the illustrator. Her rhymes make her stories come to life. I’ve been reading her books to children and myself for years. I usually work with K to 1 but she can be read to any age kid or adult.

Another solid addition to the Julia Donaldson collection. The artwork is fantastic and the story is fun. The kids love it, and I enjoy reading it to them which always helps!

A beautiful story that all the family enjoyed listening too. A huge hit at bed time!
Perfection!
My five year old grandson loved this book about one of his top three animals. The story was easy to understand with extra interesting facts about penguins and other animal, and the glorious illustrations added greatly to the enjoyment of this beautiful book. Julia Donaldson can always be counted on to create gorgeous books for children- we’re never disappointed!
