About the Author

Paul Scherz is a physicist/mechanical engineer who received his B.S. in physics from the University of Wisconsin. His area of interest in physics currently focuses on elementary particle interactions, or high energy physics, and he is working on a new theory on the photon problems with Nikolus Kauer (Ph.D. in high energy physics, Munich, Germany). Paul is an inventor/hobbyist in electronics, an area he grew to appreciate through his experience at the University’s Department of Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics and the Department of Plasma Physics.

This book is insane! I need to have a proper look through it but I can say so far its unbelievable... the amount of knowlege in this book is second to none! This book would be perfect for anyone in any electronics field as it covers so much from basic components to schematics and how to design your own boards for your very own designs/projects,I also really like all the equations as I feel like im studying theorethical physics or something along those lines.... I'm about as far from sheldon cooper as can be but its nice to imagine 😂

5.0 out of 5 stars My son ate this book inside two weeks

My 10 year old devoured this book, then spent next few weeks explaining everything he'd learned to anyone who would listen.I look forward to reading it myself one day, but it really inspired him :D

4.0 out of 5 stars Wow, this is a seriously impressive book.

It’s over 1000 pages and a large book. It contains some cartoon style images to give us a little break from the impressive detail of the content. Starts at the beginning with ‘what is electricity’ moves on through an in-depth teaching of everything you need to get a good understanding of the subject. Now, I’m going to point out that this is electronics, so expect a lot of maths - if you don’t have good maths skills, then this subject (and this book) may not be for you - you’ll see some formula which will scare you - but the book does an effective job of trying to get you to understand it. The best electronics book I have (and I have a few). Loses one star for me for being all black and white - sorry, but I like a bit of colour in my books, and when you’re having to describe colours to get across resistor values, then it’s a bit of a chore. However, in every other respect- it’s great. Covers SMD’s in case anyone is interested.

Best book that I’ve purchased on electronics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent volume of knowledge.

I’ve had a quick scan of this book and it is all encompassing the knowledge I need. Very happy with purchase and have some serious reading to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars A comprehensive yet no-nonsense introduction to Electronics.

Bought this book because I was heading into an Electrical & Electronic Engineering degree, it's been serving as a very handy accompaniment thus far. The basic theory chapter at the start of the book is very comprehensive and the later, more application-focused chapters serve as a patient introduction to the various aspects of electronics that doesn't presumptuously hurtle off into advanced concepts in the same way 'The Art Of Electronics' does. The writing is very clear and concise, in general it has a very no-nonsense, plain-English approach to explaining things that doesn't require a lot of tangential thought experiments like some other books, but still detailed enough to give you a very robust understanding of the subject matter.I will say that it is a purely Electronics focused book, don't expect much coverage on the theory behind electrical machines like motors and generators, or power electronics. So while this has been a big help so far, and it will probably be all the information a home tinkerer will need, it's not a one-stop solution for a EEE student.

Exelente producto

I love this book, it is packed full of easy to understand electrical engineering. I’m new to electronics & this is the best book I’ve read yet. Highly recommended, easy to understand. Thank you

Ótimo livro.

Produto essencial para quem está iniciando na eletrônica, que é o meu caso. Apesar da idade, comecei a me interessar por eletrônica e esse livro tem todo a teoria básica necessária, além de conceitos avançados.

Nice book

Nice book

Mycket att läsa och att förstå! ++++++++++

Jag gillar denna bok mycket! Det finns massor av spännande läsning. Det är mycket komplext med elektronik. Boken beskriver teorier om vad/varför/hur elektricitet fungerar i kretsar. Spännande läsning om hur elektricitet fungerar. Jag gillar att lära mig. Nyfikenheten i hur elektricitet fungerar i praktiken. Som att titta på Vetenskapens Värld när man var liten. Men här djupdyker man i boksidorna :)
