Top quality Biology Revision Guide This is an excellent A4 sized paperback revision book written for the AQA Biology Higher GCSE exam (best to check that the student is working towards this exam as all are a little different). The book includes loads of exam type questions which are really helpful. This book will suit a student who plans their revision well. I have worked in a scientific laboratory and this book opens the study of biology in a clear way ( plant life is described well). The revision booked is based on a three step revision plan 1. 'knowledge' an overview the requirements 2. 'retrieval' quick-fire questions and answers so Students can check out their knowledge 3. ‘Practice’ pages of exam-style questions. And answers are online. If you're looking for some simple last minute revision then this isn't going to help as this book is dedicated to those who revise throughout the course and regularly revisit forgotten stuff. In depth full coverage of the Higher AQA Biology specification. Excellent illustrations. Great questions and sample answers. Ideal for students and teachers. Highly recommended. ― Amazon review

Fantastic. Clearly structured and provides enough detail for the student to remember, without being over-simplistic. It is designed in a way it can be broken down into more manageable sections/sessions and a realistic study timetable can be scheduled and achieved. ― Amazon review

There are two pages titled 'knowledge' and this is essentially a brief overview of the topic, there are then two pages titled 'retrieval' which contains quick-fire questions and answers so you can test your knowledge and finally there are several pages of exam-style questions. You will need to go online to find the answers to these questions. There are plenty of exam tips also scattered throughout the book. This book uses text boxes and colour to help organise the topics and made it easier to review. There are also plenty of diagrams and illustrations. I have used Oxford revision guides with the teens I work for and have always found them fantastic and these guides are just as good. ― Amazon review

Bought used and arrived in great condition. This revision guide includes all the topics and lots of exam practice for each one. I recommend purchasing the revision books for all three sciences.

My daughter loves this Biology GCSE revision book. It breaks down complex topics with clear explanations and diagrams. The practice questions really helped her prepare, and she feels much more confident now.

This book is designed for the AQA GCSE 9-1 Biology course, and is very helpful in supporting students along the way and especially useful in the days nearing the exam. It follows a structured format, containing three different sections for each topic, 'knowledge', 'retrieval' and 'practice'. The knowledge section is particularly useful for revision throughout the course as it nicely summaries each section in a clear and concise format. The retrieval section acts like flashcards, allowing for a quick test of understanding before moving onto practice. This is the highlight of the book, and contains many practice questions which are vital for students whilst developing exam technique. Despite being a lengthy book however, it does need to be supported with other textbooks with a more in depth explanation of each topic; this book is designed more for revision. Saying this, I would still definitely recommend it.

Haven't seen many revision guides, but this seems the best i've seen. The information is concise and well laid out. Lots of practice questions in the book - answers online. I prefer it to gcp, as fewer words and noise on each page.. but might not cover as broad a depth in pages - but i think thats okay as everything is then covered well in practice questions

This book explains topics well. It is great for reducing exam stress.It also gives lots of short tips in little text boxes, which is helpful.The book is formatted well. For example, it uses colour well, not to make it look colourful but to aid learning. I really like it.TIP: This book is for the AQA specification – make sure you are buying the right book (there are lots of specifications e.g. Edexcel, OCR etc). This book is also for the Higher Tier, not Foundation.
