Review

Wacky, detailed panel art, featuring irreverent commentary and more than a few offhand remarks. ― Publishers Weekly

Of all the innumerable versions of the legend of King Arthur and his knights, this must be the most amusing. ―
Vermont Sunday Magazine

Kids just beginning to quest for Arthur will enjoy sharpening their swords on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lovely introduction for young to old

I saw this in a school library and it also caught the attention of my 3 year old. I didn't know the stories of King Arthur and this appears to be a lovely introduction to them. Each 2 page spread is a new short story in comic book style, the pictures are vibrant and detailed - but not too detailed for an active preschooler. We will normally read just 1 or 2 of these stories before bed and he loves the knights and dragons. I'll definitely be looking at buying a few more, the Greek myths one has already caught my eye. I think they'll last the kids a good few years too, i'm sure my 9 year old nephew would enjoy reading this to himself.

This is a good book to introduce for the first time the story of King Arthur. You don't want your kids one day as adults not knowing the story of King Arthur, right?

A very good book, I bought it for my 8 year old grandson who loves it, it has a comic book format which particularly appeals to him as he is a big fan of Tin Tin and Asterix

One of Marcia Wiliams' best titles. This is a retelling of a dozen of the Arthurian legends, done with energy and verve. Young children will love the bold illustrations, especially the panoramic view of Camelot, packed with humorous detail, and the Round Table. There's also a dragon belching forth fire all over our hero, Sir Lancelot, whose limbs stretch over half of a double-page spread.Magical!

I’ve yet to read this to my grandson but I believe it will go down well. I told him about the story of King Arthur and the sword in the stone (after he stuck his star wars light sabre in a molehill !) and he was intrigued. The story is at the right level for him and the jokey element will be popular with him and his father.

Very pleased with this book

I got this book as a gift for a 8 and 11 year old. I was worried that it was not going to be appropriate for children after I read some reviews. I was pleasantly surprised once I got it and read it, it is perfectly appropriate for children, fun to read and the depictions are engaging. This is a great introduction to the Arthurian Legends. Now, I want to buy another copy for me!

Vielen Dank!

È la storia "vera" di Re Artù, sintetica, illustrata con immagini spiritose (tipo quelle della serie Horrible History)
