This is a former library copy but I'm so pleased to have this. I became a George Foreman fan, after seeing him in the documentary film, We Were Once Kings, which looked at one of the best boxing promotions, the Rumble in the Jungle. Mr Foreman has turned his life around and win the heavyweight title again in the 1990s when he was in his 40s and he is kind enough to show that you can turn your life around for the better too.
A wonderful book full of practical advice from the former heavy weight boxing champion George Foreman.
I have always had a passion for books about achieving success and developing leadership qualities. I have also been a boxing fan all my life so when I noticed this 124 page hardcover book (Guide to Life: How to get up off the canvas when life knocks you down by George Foreman with Linda Kulman) for a bargain price on Bolo I immediately purchased it.In this easy to read with short chapters’ volume, the ex-heavyweight champion George Foreman gives a glimpse of the many obstacles he had to overcome to be a success. The practical and effective lessons he learned can relate to anyone’s life. This book is organized into 27 short chapters and some of the topics covered include the following: Don’t take my advice, be yourself, self-esteem, there’s always a reason to smile, life is short, bad habits, think before you speak, what goes around comes around, don’t be afraid to change, why life isn’t fair, you’re never too old to fight, the usable past, feeling your pain, never give up, forgiveness, the kiss of death, friendship, say something nice, love and marriage and many other practical lessons of life. This is a book that would be of interest to anyone who is seeking practical and effective advice on how to be the best you can be and end up a winner no matter what you do.Rating: 5 Stars.
