5.0 out of 5 stars breathtaking
Like a hot bath for the soul. Uncomfortable at first in a necessary way and soothing at the very end. Sensitive, powerful and brought tears to my eyes.
5.0 out of 5 stars Another wonder
This is a powerful, important, astonishingly honest, and beautiful book. I have adored Katya Balen's writing since reading 'October, October' (also highly recommended) and 'The Space We're In' has only increased my awe at her ability to weave a story, and especially her ability to inhabit the worlds and voices of children.Katya Balen never fears sailing into painful, difficult seas; here she explores neurodiversity and grief, but she does it with such heart and compassion that it us impossible not to feel uplifted. Highly recommended!
5.0 out of 5 stars Such a fabulous book - this should be in everyone’s book collection!
ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ!!!!! I previously had read Katya’s book ‘October,October’ and thought that was brilliant.....but this book takes it to a whole new level! I’m an avid reader and probably read a book every 2/3 days (don’t sleep much if you’re wondering how) but this book has literally blown me away! Such a difficult topic to write about, but it is written so beautifully! It’s one of those very special books that you won’t be able to put down! The vocabulary is also wonderful (I am also a primary teacher), and have used many of the words/phrases/sentences in my writing and reading lessons! I would recommend this book for everyone! I am just about to buy a copy for my TAs and for my several of my colleagues!
5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
Having read October, October (which is also highly recommended) I purchased this book and I’m pleased to say it is another brilliant piece of writing. It really grabs you squarely by the emotions. Don’t read it in a public place unless you don’t mind crying in front of strangers! The book is meant for 9-12 year olds but don’t let that hold you back. It’s perfect for everyone.
5.0 out of 5 stars Well written
Brilliant book that has helped me to understand what it is like for my young grandson whose brother has autism. Very well written. It is a sad read but very informative.

Written with sensitivity & covers emotional issues brilliantly
5.0 out of 5 stars I recommend
A difficult topic beautifully written. The honest emotions and thoughts of Frank were a delight to read. Am walking away having learnt a little more about life from the characters.
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful
This is one of the most beautiful, moving and wonderful books I have ever read.I am completely blown away by such amazing writing.
Brilliant storyline
The book starts off with a very beautiful code which initially seems useless or something whose use doesn't seem right. But as the story progresses, the codes and the emotions start making sense. The book presents the perspective of a 10 year old in a very beautiful way. The story is very painful but it's worth a read.
Heartbreaking💔💔
It is a beautiful book and a must read by everyone.
