5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE COMPLEMENT FOR MY INSTANT POT 6qt
Take it from a simple guy who only recently got introduced to the Instant Pot pressure cooker...and I can hardly say this strongly enough, this is THE only book you will ever need. Great for novice and experienced cooks alike. Before I bought my first ever instant pot, I had never used a pressure cooker or much less made half a decent meal in my kitchen. Today, I have made chocolate lava cakes, banana bread, casseroles, delicious steamed veggies and so much more by following the easy to follow recipes in this cook-book. I honestly cannot stress enough how simple and easy the recipes are. I have all my workmates confused now that I've been sharing some of my kitchen exploits with them. This book not only made me fully utilize my Instant Pot, it has seriously upped my cooking skills and some... I cannot recommend it enough. It is a must have for all Instant Pot owners.
4.0 out of 5 stars Loads of recipe choices, good presentation and Indexing but no illustrations
Although originally published in the USA for American readers, this edition of "The Instant Pot Bible: The only book you need for every model of instant pot – with more than 350 recipes" is a UK edition with ingredients mostly listed in metric rather than cup quantities. Unfortunately, that does not exclude use of ingredients not easily available in the UK including American wines and potato varieties as some of the more glaring examples. There are instances where, for example, turkey thighs or legs are named as the major component of a recipe but not listed among the ingredients. There are several other obviously glaring errors and omissions that should have been spotted and corrected before the edition went to printIts presentation is professional when many others are not and to similar standards as any other normally published and printed cook book, i.e. limited to a page spread and not sometimes starting on the right-hand side and continuing over another page or two. Pricing is higher than several other titles within the subject field. The book contains a large number of pages, 496 in total in a smaller bookshelf size, with a suitably large number of 350 varied recipes which should satisfy most users' needs. There is the expected mix of breakfasts, starters, soups, sides, mains and desserts with many of them International in origin. Unfortunately, illustrations are not part of thje book's structure - paper quality is not of a suitable standard to allow them.Instructions are given in detail and relevant to the Instant Pot machines but it lacks any guidelines, advice etc that comes from experience and which may help new users who are those most likely to need a book such as this. Owners and users of any brands of multi-cooker may be able to modify them to suit machine operational specifics and capacities. The book is properly Indexed which adds greatly to its usability.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good variety
It’s good but it lacks pictures
3.0 out of 5 stars Not an Illustration in Sight
Some recipes which are simply variations on a theme. There are no illustrations throughout and I rely on these to know whether I’ve made the recipe as it’s intended to be.I’m not sure I’d call it a bible but it does have some nice recipes and useful tips.
5.0 out of 5 stars One pot cooks every thing and anything
The instant pot is amazing . It’s so easy to use , everything cooked in one pot in so many different ways . Easy to clean . Best thing ever !!
5.0 out of 5 stars Meticulous detail
I have only just received this but first impressions are excellent. It is entertainingly written and clearly thoroughly researched. The road maps, the presentation, the explanations and the additional notes in the beyond section are just superb. One of the best presented cook books I have come across.
4.0 out of 5 stars A decent recipe book
This is a reasonable recipe book and a great starting point for getting to grips with the instant pot. It’s American, as you might expect, but most of the ingredients are readily available here. There are accounted of recipes that now form part of our usual repertoire, but a few others that are a little on the bland side.We absolutely love the aubergine and giant couscous recipeThe kids would eat the Mac and cheese every day (be warned for your waistband if you do!)And the quinoa chilli was declared by my husband as being the best chilli he has ever had (we aren’t veggie but have cut down on meat so this is high praise indeed!)Don’t bother with the cheese burger casserole, very bland.I have found it helpful to use it whilst I’ve been learning to use the instant pot, as it’s helped me to understand the volume of liquid required etc.I would say there are millions of recipes online so a book is not essential. However, if you want one that gives a mix of recipes and types of cuisine, this is not a bad starting point.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good design and easy to use
Excellent product and good value for money
BRILLIANT DETAIL - EASY TO UNDERSTAND - WONDERFUL TIPS
I loved this book. The amount of detail they went into with each recipe is incredible and as a complete newbie to Instant Pot cooking I very quickly gained confidence in this type of cooking. Not only were the recipe's very good but the beginning instructions and explanations in the book helped me to better understand this way of cooking. The additional tips with each recipe are also great. Note: This is not a picture cookbook.... very few of the recipes have accompanying pictures. But what it lacked in pictures it more than made up for in detailed explanations of each recipe. Well worth the price
Perfect recipe book
Good cookbook with fun recipes, well written
Aims too much for the middle...
Being familiar with the conventional recipes for many of the dishes in this book, I felt like this strayed too far. I suppose the objective was to make the dishes more broadly appealing, but I feel like they lose what makes them special/distinctive. Examples: Butter chicken made with white wine? Chicken paprikash with caraway seeds and nutmeg? Brisket with green olives and prunes? Also, certain recipes, like the chocolate lava cakes, can't be made in a 3-quart instant pot. This one is a pass for me.
THE BEST COOKBOOK I'VE EVER BOUGHT + A SECRET FOOD SAVING TRICK
THIS IS THE BEST COOKBOOK I'VE EVER BOUGHT. And I've bought hundreds. This makes Instant Pot cooking easy to understand with charts and simple diagrams. Though I consider myself an experienced cook, this can make anyone a good cook with little effort. PLUS, there's a secret food saving method revealed in the Sous Vide Section (page 257) that simply works like a FOODSAVER device to remove air from the zip lock bags for keeping food longer. The authors call it the water bath method for removing air from the bags: You simply fill an Instant Pot with water and slowly submerge a nearly filled Ziplock bag until the water pressure pushes all air out of the bag, at which point you zip up the the bag. The air will be gone, and it's more efficient, easier, and CHEAPER than an expensive Foodsaver device would be. The recipes are outstanding - everything from breakfast oatmeal to fantastic desserts - and they can all be done in the Instant Pot. I've tested many. They turn out remarkably well. The recommended cooking times are spot-on perfect. I love this cookbook so much that I'm going to order a Kindle version so that I can refer to my phone for recipes while I'm cooking. The best, best, best of cookbooks. It's changed my entire approach to cooking forever.
A real help with Instant Pot
I use a lot this book! Wonderful idea the roadmap recipes: you have a lot of options to change the recipe with the ingredients that you have already at home.
