About the Author

Sun Tzu (544 B.C.–496 B.C.) was an ancient Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher from the Zhou Dynasty, who has had a significant impact on Chinese and Asian history and culture, both as an author of The Art of War as well as through legend.

Lao-Tzu was a philosopher and poet of ancient China who lived in the fifth century BC. He is known as the reputed author of the Tao Te Ching and the founder of philosophical Taoism.

Confucius (551-479 BC) was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher. His philosophy emphasized personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice, and sincerity.

Mencius (372-289 BC) was an itinerant Chinese philosopher and sage, and one of the principal interpreters of Confucianism.

Very Nice! Excellent book, very well written and explained with lots of extra content! If you are looking to buy Sun Tzu's Art of War this is the perfect edition for you, it has the best layout, in depth explanation and analysis, additional Eastern philosophy books inside, and by far the best looking cover and book design leather hardback and gold highlight on the pages!Look at the pictures I have included!I hope I have helped you into making a decision into which Sun Tzu book to buy and have a good day!

The content is exactly as paid for, so no complaints there. Unfortunately, when this book arrived I found that the spine had been crushed, leaving a bend mark. This takes away from the book's aesthetic, and is especially upsetting because it is quite prominent. This is likely due to transit, but I do believe that the true fragility of books is often ignored when being handled.

Canterbury classics are great. There cheap, well made, easy to get hold of and look amazing on the shelf. If your looking into philosophy just get this one as the titles included are a must read for any aspiring Plato or Confucius.
