4.0 out of 5 stars Good book but buy the book not the Kindle version
I like the book but the charts in the book are very difficult to read on the Kindle version, if I had known that I would have purchased the book instead. The chart that tells you which weight of kettlebell to use and the exercise charts are very difficult to read. I have asked Bolo for a refund so I can buy the book instead
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Kettle bell book
I think Kettle bells are a superb method of keeping fit however like ALL exercise they must be performed safely. This book takes safety seriously and offers plenty of advice. I reckon it's the best KB book i've read - and I have KB Bible, the series from 'that Russian fella' etc .

Good basic information
It was a good basic text with age appropriate models which I think is important for these kind of books. It provides good basic information that's safe. The only fault I have is that the pictures could be sharper and larger.
Useful info. Addition of exercise programs would be an improvement.
Good info. Would have been better if it included actual exercise programs, outlining which exercises to do on what days, how many reps per set, how many sets. Could give up some of the info on how kettlebells are made if trying to maintain the current page count when adding other info.
Excellent kettlebell reference
To put my review into perspective, this isn't my only kettlebell book. I point that out because it would make an extremely satisfactory 'one and only' reference but it offers no new insights if you already have other options. It does, however, have more photographs than most kettlebell books. I'm not sure a 50+ with severe physical limitations would pick this up as their first book but, if they did, they would be encouraged to see the exercises laid out progressively, meaning they start out with the basic move and show the advanced version as the modification. In most videos and books (for under 50's?) the reverse is true in that the most basic movement is listed as a modification when one is offered at all. Kettlebells for 50+... doesn't condescend to its target audience at all. It assumes we have made a commitment by purchasing it and will get off our bums and start swingin', which I like.
Book is important for what and how to use kettlebells, how what to avoid for seniors.
The book is really helpful on instruction of how to use the bells and how not to use them. You just don't pick them up and go to work. I am 76 years old and must pay attention to the particular exercises to use and those to avoid. The exercises are described in a clear manner. I wouldn't use the kettlebells without some instruction.
Three Stars
