Charles Platt is a contributing editor and regular columnist for Make: magazine, where he writes about electronics and tools. Platt was a senior writer for Wired magazine, has written various computer books, and has been fascinated by electronics since he put together a telephone answering machine from a tape recorder and military-surplus relays at age 15. He lives in a Northern Arizona wilderness area, where he has his own workshop for prototype fabrication and the projects that he writes about for Make: magazine.

Ove just started to study and learn electronics and this book is a great asset. It not only teaches you the subject but ALSO the skills and insider knowledge of creating Prototypes. It’s a great book and so I’ve already bought the sequel ‘Make: More Electronics”

Great book for a starter to electronics. Easy to understand even with a minimal amount of knowledge about electronics and components yet well explained without getting too theoretical.
Excellent instruction
Well written, well taught lessons are clear, understandable and establish a good foundation of the principles of the topics of each section. Charles Platt is an amazing teacher. He is also available to answer questions. Great buy.
Absolutely get this book!
I’m a newer hobbyist and I love this book and the others this author has made. I even had issues with one of the circuits and I contacted the author as he suggested you do in the book and he replied right away and realized I had made an error in how I interpreted the purpose of the circuit. (Oops). This book is amazing though. I have built and rebuilt all the circuits they do work I can confirm 100%. You just need patience and practice and a willingness to learn. I absolutely recommend this book. This book and electronics for dummies have been my two books that I have alway sitting on my desk and often go back to and reread as they both are full of great knowledge and circuits to build.

Es un buen libro para iniciarse en la electrónica. Sirve para conocer la teoría y funcionamiento de una manera práctica. Da una buena base para más tarde ampliar conocimentos por otras fuentes. La única pega es que alguno de los componentes que utiliza, al ser del mercado americano, son difícules de encontrar aquí
