The key therapeutic drug classes for each major system have been outlined in separate chapters. Bullet points and tables make the content easy to understand. Pharmacology is a constantly evolving field, and new drugs are being developed every day. The main aim of this book is to familiarize the reader with the different categories of drugs. The most commonly prescribed drugs are described here, but the book is by no means exhaustive and does not cover all the drugs available today. For detailed descriptions of the latest drugs on the market, and less commonly prescribed drugs, the reader is referred to one of the more exhaustive textbooks of pharmacology.

Nice and simple cover with a short sentence below summarising the book. I really like how the cover feels and is a great size - not too big or small.There's a contents table at the beginning of this book, which is always very useful so we can easily navigate through the book. I also really like the short quizzes at the end of each chapter and think it's a great way to test my knowledge and understanding.Overall, a great layout and a great book for medical students as it highlights the importance of each drug and also explains how they work inside the human body. It is also very easy to read and understand due to the division of units based on each system of the body.

Great for explanation of difficult concepts, with review questions each chapter

I always thought I could never understand pharmacology, so going through my Acupuncture school, I got though my pharmacology courses by rote memorization and pure luck. Then, in practice, I realize that I do have to understand pharmacology, what with the high use of medication in patients' daily routine. So I was looking for a hood, concised, simple to understand pharmacology review that I can do a quick study/review on my own time. Thankfully, I found the right book. This book is everything I've been looking for and amazingly simple to understand. I love the review questions at the end of each chapter. I wish I had found this book while in school, but for $20, it's really help me understand why my patients are taking certain drugs. It also helps me understand the western deconstruction of the Chinese medicinal herbs. I wish they'd come out with a pharmacy review just for Chinese medicinal herbs and potential contraindications, just for acupuncturists and herbalists. The current available herbal medicine textbooks just pretty much list the herbs and note western research on it, but not much of an explanation. With age, I find that I can no longer just do rote memorization, so understanding the basics really helps me to remember and apply concepts. I use this book in my clinic concurrently with a textbook on Chinese medicinal herbs pharmacological concepts to help me understand. And for that, I give it the five stars it deserves.

This book is concise, perfect for revision, especially when need drug classification handy while preparing other subjects. Pages are nice too. I didn’t expect it too be this good quality. I am glad I got this. 😇
