5.0 out of 5 stars The best hair product I've ever used
Things which are great:1. The hold. Nothing compares in terms of hold, especially when you consider point 2.2. How little you need. This is a product where for once you genuinely can use "a pea sized amount" (as other manufacturers claim) and it will actually hold well. In my experience in cheaper products you'd easily need 3-4 times the amount to get the same hold, which would also leave you hair feeling clumpy. This is at bare minimum strong wind resistant - it really is a strong hold yet it doesn't feel like your hair is bogged down in product. That brings us on to point 3.3. It isn't sticky/clumpy/leaves any residue. If you run your hand through your hair it doesn't particularly feel full of product, but you can re-style it. It lasts all day, easily 16+ hours. It washes out easily and if your hair gets wet (e.g. rain, swimming, etc) it doesn't do that annoying thing where you feel like product is dripping down your face. Are there any negatives? Not really. The only one that might not suit everyone is it has no smell whatsoever. Personally I prefer products with a nice fragrance. This doesn't smell of anything at all, although that's better than it smelling unpleasant. Given how good it is, this in itself isn't a bad enough point to rate it down for me.Yes it's more expensive than alternatives. But it's also better than every other product I've tried and I mean that genuinely. If you factor in how little of it you need per day it doesn't even work out that expensive in comparison to others. How long does it last? On my hair shown in the photo - which is grade 3 back/sides and 2ish inches on top - one pot would do me about 3 months.Any other benefits? The small pot makes it ideal to take on holiday or when travelling. The packaging is nice.Overall this is hands down the best hair clay. I've never found anything which comes close to it so keep rebuying it for the last year and a half.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great all day hold with Matt finish
This is a really good product to give an 'all day' hold with a very Matt finish. My hair is currently about inch and a half long and I can apply this in the morning and its still the same when I go to bed. Hair doesn't look greasy at all and gives quite a fixed look, I wouldn't say its re-workable though it looks soft and natural which I like.During the hotter weather, my hair was longer (2 and a half inches maybe) and I did find by the end of the day it was struggling to maintain shape but I don't think this product is intended for that length so that was on me!Ok, so is it worth the money? ---- Maybe.... I do really like the hold and Matt finish. Its quite dense and is the type you have to scrape out of the tub, you only need a really small amount and I always apply to damp hair and finish with hairdryer....good to go! I know some people are complaining about the size of the tub...but I'd say its comparable to other brands..and really...how much are you putting on!?Its got no scent to it which is a shame...its completely neutral ( I even checked with the other half in case it was me!!....it wasn't).I've used various products for different reasons and styles though for quite some time I tend to buy similar types of products, J.Crew, D:Fi Dstruct, Aveda. Along with some of the cheaper brads VO5 etc... I would say the Hold of this one is definitely at the top, however is it 15quid better than a VO5? In fairness to the VO5 hair fibre, I can get through most of the work day with a similar appearance....might not make it quite into the night. Out of the ones listed...they all smell way better, Aveda probably my favourite for a subtle fresh smell and nice light hold (though I would not expect the same hold all day), my hair always feels nice and soft and smells great with this...soo in this case i'm happy with the 20quid price tag.So I guess I depends what you what out of it. This is a good utility product that will see you through the day, shame it doesn't have a nice fragrance...but you can't have everything I suppose.Would I buy it again? .... I'm not sure I would. Its a little on the hard side when applying and the lack of fragrance are the cons. If I needed the strong hold and clean look from morning till night...everyday.. then maybe.Definitely a good product and does what it needs to, it'll come down to personal preference.
4.0 out of 5 stars Not the best value, but it really is one of the best hair products.
I was very into the YouTube men’s hair scene back in 2015-16, watching creators like Blumaan and Luca Fersko who always used this product. So after 5 years or so and feeling nostalgic, I purchased Claymation. It certainly has a high hold. I style my hair as kind of a messy wavy fringe, and my natural hair is only slightly wavy but this product helps make my hair hold in a wavier style for around 4 hours but will usually flatten down a little by the end of the day. The product works great for achieving waves and texture by scrunching. The matte finish of the product is really nice but can make your hair appear greasy, ironically, if you apply too much. It sometimes is hard finding the right amount to apply but a little bigger than a pea size is normally good for me with around 4 inches hair on top.Applying the product is straightforward and goes in fairly easy, just don’t be too rough when you apply and make sure to coat every inch of the hair.So yeah, that’s all. I would say the product is a little overpriced but hey, it’s certainly one of the best products out there. I’ll probably be buying Gatsby or Tigi Bedhead in the long run, but this was a fun experience.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing hair product
I was a bit dubious about paying almost £20 for a hair product, but this styling clay is amazing. I used a tiny amount on dry hair and styled it through, no stickiness, lovely finish and last the whole day. Really good product. Make sure you rub in your hands first to activate it.
3.0 out of 5 stars Decent but not worth the money
Decent product but not worth £18. Can get products for half the price that do a better job.
Very High Hold + Thicker Hair + All Day or Night Performance
Hanz De Fuko products are all high quality and offer salon-grade performance. The only real downside is the price point for 2 oz.My opinion on CLAYMATION:Performance: The clay provides very high hold and does not budge much. Slight maintenance is required if the hair is disturbed throughout the day but my hair stays in place throughout the day or night when going out. I would say it’s similar to Moroccanoil Textured Clay.Since the clay has kaolin and bentonite, it’s a double clay product, which naturally provides a thicker appearance, as well as serve as an oil absorber. It does not have parabens.Texture and Application: The clay is a bit hard and does grab the hair a bit. The directions are to apply to dry hair, but I prefer to use a hair thickener as a prestyler, or use towel-dried hair to ease the application. A little does go a long way, and it does not require much claymation to achieve a desired look.I would use this product for important events or night outings when you desire a matte look. Unless you do not mind the price-point, I would prefer not to use it as my day-to-day hair styling product.
Best Product ever
Been using this for 6 years now, nothing compares to this one
Great hold
Great hold
