When librarian and budding private investigator Kitt Hartley visits her ex-assistant Grace Edwards in Durham, she soon learns of an unsolved murder. A year ago Jodie Perkins, a Mechanics student, disappeared after her student-radio broadcast was cut short with a deafening scream.

A Witch Hunt in Whitby:
A serial killer is loose in Yorkshire, and has claimed three victims in three months. Eleven days before each murder, a large purple V is painted on the front door of the victim's house. The victims, all of whom have some association with the occult, are found drained of blood with two red marks on their neck.

This set of books were for my Mum who is 91 and loves to read mysteries and crime thrillers. Mum does not get out much so loves to sit and read. Mum said this set of books were good stories and they were a really good price - Mum can read 2 -3 books a week. A good set of books that arrived on time. Thank you.

I can't put these books down, I was born and bred in York, but sadly moved away. Wonderful characters , good plots, and I can't put them down, I love them, the detail of the city, and the library where I spent my teenage years! I will be reading many more of this authors books, I love the style and they feel like home for me

Not the best written crime fiction I've read but the plots are quite good. What I find very annoying throughout all five books is the very formal way they are written, for example; "Kitt's somewhat unsettling statement gave all three women pause. They fell silent as they considered the task in front of them." "Are there other theories you'd care to venture?" "I sympathise with their reaction." "Vampire Cults? What does that entail?" - Who says "entail"? Loosen up the writing and they would be much better.
