    In my job, I help hospital clients set up binders of required testing results, for review by regulatory/accrediting agencies. In my opinion, neatness counts in this effort, and there's nothing more frustrating and sloppy-looking that manuals full of test reports that have mispunched holes.This device has two features that ensure neat results. First, the paper guides at either side work together to ensure that the paper is always centered in the punch; and second, the locations of the punches are fixed, so they cannot go out of alignment.Although not the least expensive hole punch, the is far and away the best manual hole punch for creating professional and neat document binders.

    I got this hole punch to replace an identical bought 20 years ago that finally rusted and became unusable. It's a workhorse. My old one punched though more sheets than the average unit with no dulling to the punch heads over those 20 years. One warning: Take care not to accidentally bend the adjustable arms that hold the paper, or they won't retract back into place properly. (It's not easy to do, but once it's done, it's not fixable.)
