These are priced amazingly on here compared to what you can buy them for elsewhere. I already knew I enjoyed this product as I had the individual black and white, but when the full set arrived I was in awe of the colour range. Beautiful products!A great way to use pastels, without the mess. Blend so easy, have great colour vibrancy. You can tell they are a high quality product from just the pencils themselves to the pigment inside.They work great with mixed media too. I have used them with prismacolour, ink, markers, etc. In the pieces I have created so far when using them, I have used a marker for a base skin tone, then used these to create all the shadows highlights and depth, and then used prismacolour sand ink for final details on top. I love them.They don't go well over the top of the likes of prismacolour, however they do go well underneath them.

these pencil pastels are a very good quality i have the 36 set and the 24. texture adherence decides on the paper you use. they stick to pastel paper but if you cant afford pastel paper they also stay well on sugar paper which in my opinion is fine. whatever you do dont use a pencil sharpener they will break every time. use craft knife sand block or what i use is a ladies nail file. this way they sharpen very nicely last quite a bit. only 1 thing for you to do is get another white pencil. you will use them a lot quicker however if you look after them they will serve you well

These are very fragile items, the quality of the pencils is great, but the default Bolo packaging is unpadded and like other reviewers have mentioned, this was delivered to me dropped through my letterbox on to a hard floor. I know from experience that the “leads” are going to be broken inside. Now debating whether to return this item

I love Faber-Castell products and have never been disappointed by them. These pastels are no different.These are ideal for detailed areas as they can be sharpened to a fairly good point, I would recommend using a good quality sharpener and being very careful though. They blend very well and the colours match with the Polychromos stick pastels and the pencil crayons so the different mediums can be combined well.The colour selection in the 36 set is good although there are quite a lot of earthy colours and a limited selection of pinks and purples, depending on what you like to do with them this could be a positive or a negative. The pencils are also available individually so less well represented colour groups can be added to easily.The tin these come in is also lovely and keeps the pencils nice and safe. I bought the 12 set before getting these and found that the pencils didn't all fit neatly in the tin and wouldn't lay flat but that hasn't been a problem with a these.
Excellent choice to start experimenting with Pastel pencils!
As a coloured pencil artist, I wanted to experiment with Pastel pencils. As I already use Faber-Castell Polychromos coloured pencils, it was a no brainer for me to try their pastel pencils. They were also recommended by several professional artists.They are soft and easy to work with and blend. What more can you say?I very much recommend them!
