Bought this to bleed the brakes after a whole new rear brake setup on a Mercedes Sprinter, I've done brake jobs before and used the two person method. But thought I'd try this out and see how it went. For me the product was excellent, no leaks or having to add silicone grease to gaskets or tightening anything up as some reviews I read stated, it was basically out of the box working. I did pressure test the unit before filling it with brake fluid, and it held a constant pressure over a 10 minute period ( If you wish to do this don't attach the reservoir cap to the line, pump to 15 or so PSI and leave for 15 mins then check guage hasn't moved) which was a good start, I checked for other leaks with a spray bottle filled with water and washing up liquid and sprayed round the caps and found nothing. The build quality is excellent, If you follow a 2 year flush per service recommendation you'll be saving money around your second use, we are a two car household so it's already saved a couple of quid getting it done from the garage. The process is very straightforward, I filled with 1.5 litres of fluid. Used a turkey baster to remove 2/3 of the old fluid from the reservoir on the van. Opened bleed nipples on calipers and waited till no air bubbles present, tighten and job done, overall a very simple process, that's made doing fluid flushes easier with no need to get a second person to help you.
5.0 out of 5 stars Pump
Excellent product and service
5.0 out of 5 stars Decent well priced tool
I've used the Easibleed for around 4 years, but this doesn't deliver enough pressure to properly bleed modern ABS systems.Invested in this Sealey model after reading the reviews, some of which were negative about the leaks that came from the item...Upon opening the box, you get the pressure vessel, complete with built in pump, lid and feed hose. Along with the master cylinder cap and a plastic spanner. The later used to tighten up the lid on the pressure vessel.Once the instructions were digested, I checked that all the seals were fitted correctly on the relevant lids and checked the vessel for leaks by simply pumping it up. (just don't have the master cylinder cap attached). Initially it didn't hold pressure, but using the supplied plastic spanner to do up the lid, it quickly reached 20PSI with NO leaks. Upon attaching the master cylinder cap it lost it's pressure via the cap. As designed too.The cap is a quick release fitting similar to most air tools, so easy to use.Attached to my car, filled with ATE Typ 200 and fully bled my brakes @ 20PSI. The pedal feels much firmer and the bleed process was very quick. Much faster than the easibleed of the past. Not once did I run out of fluid (added about 1.5 litres) and completed a full flush through at all corners, checking pressure after each wheel.Once completed, the pressure was released via the built in valve, item unhooked and parked for the next vehicle.Definitely recommend this one. Just make sure you follow the instructions and you won't have any issues.
4.0 out of 5 stars We got there eventually.
It initially appeared to be of good build quality but I had trouble getting the filler cap to seal- it had to be done up really really tightCouldn't find anything that was causing it.This is something I would expect in the cheaper imitations available so Sealey dropped a star there. My car needed quite a bit of pressure on the dial to get the fluid running but it succeeded in removing some troublesome air bubbles from the new calipers that a Visibleed kit could not.Overall it made the job easy as you can concentrate on each caliper and not have to stop all the time and run around to the reservoir to make sure to not run out of fluid.
5.0 out of 5 stars Makes bleeding the brakes and clutch almost fun!
Excellent product (mine came with a free universal adapter too).Usage is pretty self explanatory but I would say the instructions could be worded a little clearer in a couple of places.I will also just mention three important points:First, I found that on the cap that connects to the vehicles brake fluid reservoir the tube part that goes into the reservoir needed trimming so that the tube stops at about the fluid max mark in the reservoir - otherwise, however I tried to depressurise, I ended up with fluid being drawn back into the bleeder bottle and then having to be put back into the reservoir again.Second, as I think has been said already, you can save on mess / clean up by just filling the brake fluid reservoir right up to the brim and not filling the bleeder bottle - do check the fluid level during bleeding as you won't be able to bleed all the system with one fill on most vehicles and also on the cap that connects to the vehicles brake fluid reservoir the tube part that goes into the reservoir needs removing completely to stop fluid being draw into the bleeder bottle (which defeats the point of doing it this way).Third, the instructions say to just drain the brake fluid out of the bleeder after use, this would be acceptable if you will be using it frequently however as I only use it occasionally I rinse it out using cold water after use and then thoroughly dry it, as the one time I left it with a very small amount of residue in the tubing I noticed upon going to use it again that the brake fluid had started to penetrate through the tubing and was making a mess.Overall I would recommend this over cheaper or for that matter more expensive setups.
1.0 out of 5 stars Leaks. Poorly put together. Worst tool I've bought.
I expected better from Sealey. Wouldn't hold any pressure with the bottle empty. Gauge wasn't screwed in fully, so removed this and put ptfe tape on threads. Still leaked.Traced the leak to the pressure release valve (again, this was loose) but even after tightening, the leak persisted. After over an hour of messing around I gave up and requested a refund. For the price of the kit, it's not worth the price at all. The product looks exactly the same as others with a different brand name for a third of the price.Won't be ordering another one as it seems I'm not the only one who has experienced this problem.
Quality
This system is excellent. The plunger is metal and should last longer than the plastic one on my last kit. There was an attachment to assist slippery hands tighten down the cap to make sure a vacuum is held tight, and the hoses and quick disconnects were of high quality. I would recommend 100%
Ottimo
Utile e funzionale
Werkt perfect.
