5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent flavour
I drink a lot of green tea and have quite a wide range of experience of different green teas. I found these teabags have a wonderful flavour - and can be reused two or three times so are actually amazingly economical.
5.0 out of 5 stars Makes my dad’s day when he sees these ordered
My dad’s favourite green tea. Ever since introducing him to this brand from our Costco trips, he’s had them since.Taste is there and the freshness is always apart of the tea. No matter how long he has them. The health benefits are great for someone who’s aging. As you tend to drop off the health hype with age!Value for money. Last for a very long time to.
5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy
I have tried practically every type of tea on the planet and these tea bags are among my favorites. They make a delicious cup of green tea, that somehow has a slight taste of biscuits. Inside of the sealed individual packets is a tea bag (obviously) and a tiny amount of matcha tea powder. Having put the tea bag into hot (preferably 80 degrees C) water, the matcha tea powder in the packet is sprinkled on to the cup. Matcha tea is very expensive, which probably explains why there is so little in the packet, but it does make a subtle difference to the tea, so make sure that you do add it. I have experimented by adding more matcha powder, since I have a very expensive bag of the stuff. However, to be honest it is perfectly delicious without going to these lengths. The tea has a fantastic green colour when made, just like the picture on the front of the box. At the risk of being a tea snob: the temperature of the water for green tea is best at about 80 C, as opposed to boiling. When I first discovered this, I was skeptical, but it does make a difference. he overall flavor and sweetness of green tea is determined by a variety of amino acids and natural sugars. Bitterness and astringency are contributed by polyphenols ("tannins"). Amino acids dissolve at 140°F (60 °C) while tannins dissolve at 176°F (80°C). Therefore, brewing green tea at lower temperatures will ensure that its sweet and complex flavors will not be overpowered by the bitter-tasting flavors. I stole the last technical bit from a tea website. However, try it at lower temperatures and see what you think :-)
4.0 out of 5 stars Australian tea with a nice clean fresh taste
This is my regular tea. It's at the top end of mid price - reflecting that it's not a premium green tea but it's still streets ahead of the stuff you get in supermarkets. Good colour with a fresh clean taste that's slightly sweet and not at all bitter. Not particularly strong - you only get one decent mug per bag. The tea itself is from Australia, it's the added matcha that's from Japan. Tend to find the quality varies depending upon how near the expiry date the box is. Update: have since found that the Ioten Premium Matcha Green Tea is better - similar price bracket although slightly more expensive (£9.98 for 50 bags)
5.0 out of 5 stars Great taste and great value
I’ve been drinking green tea from this brand since 2017 and it’s has become my favourite. Although over the years the price has gone up a bit (probably inflation) this is still one of the best deal. Will definitely reorder once they are finished.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great tea
Fantastic tea. It's the same as sold buy Costco but without having to trail to Costco. It isn't cheap but the quality it superb and it's worth every penny. I have this as a treat every day and I look forward to it. The bags are individually wrapped, keeping them fresh. This is also very convenient as you can carry them in your handbag or pocket. Each bag will make a small pot or probably two medium size mugs. The taste is probably an acquired one, but very addictive and I love it.
5.0 out of 5 stars decent cup of green tea in the UK, for a change....
tea actually tatses like Japanese sencha, colour is rich and vibrant, produces a fragrant cup in minimal time - tohugh they ARE somewhat expensive.Having tried both cold and hot brew - i find that the instructions for cold extraction produce a much weaker flavour than the alternative method of steeping in HOT water and topping with cold and refridgerating. If like me and you enjoyed green tea in japan, but cant afford the customs tog et it shipped, this made a nice alternative. This tea is not reccomended for flavouring however - i would stick to cookign grade matcha for that.
1.0 out of 5 stars Product delivered very close to the expiration date
The product delivered was packed one year ago and delivered to me with only 2 months and a half of remaining shelf life. Unfortunately, only noticed this after opening the 100 bags box. Hence, the seller was not willing to take the box back or do any other commercial gesture. In addition, they advised that the remaining shelf life is normal for them. Thus, I need now to consume green tea 2-3 times a day. I guess the seller is very health conscious for their customers! So, beware of this seller discharging their stock close to expiry date on you!
Ito En is a known Top Quality Supplier of all kinds of Green Teas, and this is one of them!!!
I don't know how they do it, but for the Price, this is Excellent Green Tea (even though it's in a Bag, which I usually Avoid, as Most Bag Tea is Junk, made from the Floor Sweepings and Dust in the Factory, but NOT THIS ONE). Amazingly, this has both Low Cost Product AND With High Quality Green Teas (a Blend of both, Sencha AND Matcha Green Tea's, too). It's Great VALUE, Full of Flavor, Taste, and Aroma (you have to let it Infuse at least for a Minute, or Longer, IMHO... it Never Ever gets Bitter, no matter How Long you Infuse it... just be sure to do it at about +175F Water Temperature, for Green Teas). You can also use this to make ICED GREEN TEA, just by putting, 8 Bags into a 2-Quart size Mason Glass Jar, filling it up with Fresh, Clean, Soft Water, and putting it into your Refrigerator for 8 to 12 hours. The next day, you have Great Ice Green Tea, that you can Drink immediately. Like the Box Label says, this is "for HOT & COLD Brewing", and it is. It's GREAT Tasting, just the way it is, but, for the HOT Version, I like to add additional Toasted (NOT Roasted) Rice too, to turn it into My Version of GENMAI-Cha, Green Tea, and, for me, it's absolutely Wonderful, Genmai-Cha, Green Tea, too!!! The Price is a STEAL!!! You can't Beat It With A Stick!!! It's Absolutely an Excellent VALUE!!! Overall, I give this 5-Stars, I also HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT, for Great Value, Freshness, and Flavor, and I say, "GO FOR IT... !!!"

Japanese green tea
Green tea - at first I was skeptical about it, but it was enough to brew a second cup and it was different. This is the taste you need to find out about - it is not brown "green" tea. - This is authentic green tea. For us it is excellent. Purchase service - without any problems - we greet you from a beautiful country with a beautiful white and red flag.
