Ralph Lauren Polo Black is a dangerous fragrance for the urban professional. A scent to help you break free from conformity and find your rebellious side. A scent for the modern, urban male with an impertinent edge. Fresh, bold and unforgettable. Lauren attended the John Jay College Jewish Day School followed by MTA (now known as the Marsha Stern Talmudical Academy), before eventually graduating from DeWitt Clinton High School in 1957. In MTA Lauren was known by his classmates for selling ties to his fellow students. At the age of 16, Ralph's brother George Poitras (who was his guardian) changed their last name to Lauren to avoid the unfortunate obscenity reference Lipshitz has in English. He went to Baruch College where he studied business, although he dropped out after two years. From 1962 to 1964 he served in the United States Army. He did not attend fashion school, but worked for Brooks Brothers as a salesman. In 1967, with the financial backing of Manhattan clothing manufacturer Norman Hilton, Lauren opened a necktie store where he also sold ties of his own design, under the label "Polo." He later received the rights to use the trademark Polo from Brooks Brothers . Thus starting the world-wide brand we know today.

This is such a good spray even though it is edt and not edp it is still strong enough to last all day . Unlike many of the more recent fragrances on the market for men which are almost androgenous , this is a real , for want of a better word , manly scent. The Polo red is also excellent as is the Polo Sport which is harder to find but worth looking for .

I bought this as a Christmas present for my brother who is 21. In fact i buy him it every Christmas. It's a really lovely smell and he obviously likes it too because he asks for it every year. I usually get it from Boots and collect points but this was £7 odd cheaper and it got delivered to my door no problem so no waiting in ques ect
