Just had to have one of these jars after seeing them on Ina Garten's tv show. Looked really lovely in her kitchen and this looks equally lovely in mine.Really easy to use my cup measures for flour now and I intend to perhaps get the smaller sized ones for sugar.Beautifully made but you have to respect the fact that it is glass and should not be handled lightly.Smooth edges all round the top and lid and I am really delighted with my purchase.Super fast delivery and it was well packaged. A box wrapped in bubblewrap inside a bigger box.It is a large jar and it took a large 3Kg bag of flour plus another two 1Kg bags so 5Kg in total. That filled the jar to below the rim.Recemmended highly.

I am terrible at size guessing. I have one of these for the laundry soap and it's clearly NOT 8L....I bought this one for tea. TEA. So, I had to fit a jar onto the kitchen counter that you could probably store 3 cats in. And the really amazing part is that hubby hasn't even noticed it. I mean, it's HUGE.

I have always wanted one of these storage jars as you can only buy them in AmericaI'd seen these on the cookery programme The Barefoot Countess so when a saw them on BoloI just had to have one well I'll be purchasing some moreas they are more attractive then the plastic containers that I haveThe storage jar is very well made and heavy so it wont be so easy to crackI have put sugar in mine it was a 5kg bag and it has taken all of the sugar and still plenty of room leftthe item was very well packed I have seen some comments on Bolo America about the damage to the lidsso I have put some cling film tightly around the inside of the lid as it has a lip all around to cushionthis you would have to be very cack handed to damage itNow am off to purchase some more

Ordered myself a second one as the size is super useful (for fermenting), but after several dishwasher cycles the bottom just fell off in a spectacular manner - definitely not dishwasher safe!

I was debating whether or not to spend £35 on a storage jar. It seems a bit rich, but I was desperate to find something to store my children's snacks.I was a bit worried when I read some reviews on the American site saying that they found pieces of glass in their food. But how ridiculous as the quality of this jar is very very high! The glass is thick, sturdy and clear.Additionally, the lid is strong and of very good quality, I can't imagine any pieces of glass falling off (no bubbles or thin pieces/areas.)Yes, it's a bit pricey, but it's great quality and looks wonderful in my kitchen!

I have just received my jar which is a replacement for a similar jar which I bought in John Lewis over 25 years ago. I have to say that this jar looks gorgeous and much better quality than the one it's replacing. Good buy!
Fabulous jar at a fantastic price point!
I wanted to start a German Rumtopf (Rum pot) like my mother had when I was growing up. I started all of the fruits separately in smaller jars, and then started the search for a good quality larger jar with a lid to combine them all into so their flavors could meld. I was not let down when I found this beautiful, heavy glass jar with a lid for a great price. When I got it, I was skeptical that my fruit would fill the jar. I took it out of it’s packaging and washed and dried it. Then the magic began. I emptied jar after jar of the fresh mangoes, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, cherries and peaches that I had started separately some months ago. To my utter amazement and happiness every piece of fruit fit into the jar and it looks beautiful!! I am one hundred percent happy with this purchase and will be buying more!!** update: since buying this jar at 13 dollars, it went unavailable for awhile when I went back to purchase more. To my sadness, the jars are now more than double in price then what I paid for mine. Still a good deal for a quality product, but I would have liked to have grabbed a few more at such a good price **
EXCELLENT QUALITY - 2 GALLON IS HUGE!
Price-wise ($24 and change when I purchased this), this is excellent. Size-wise -- be forewarned the 2-gallon version is HUGE. I'd made a double-batch of biscotti and the jar wasn't even 1/2 full. If you have a house full of kids or if you're a baker who bakes in huge batches, this is a FANTASTIC find. The glass is thick and HEAVY. Probably not suitable in a house full of young children, but if you're a baker -- excellent quality and fantastic price point!

This glass jar is gigantic! It is heavy and the glass is thick so it should stand the test of time. I had low expectations, I admit, because the <$20 price falls squarely under "if it sounds too good to be true..." I know it says 2 gallons, so I should have expected it's generous proportions, but I was skeptical. Perhaps it was a misprint or very poor quality glass. Nope! I stood correct corrected yesterday after I opened up the box.This jar-with-lid-included is a steal! It was packaged securely in its own box, which was then placed in the usual shipping box with those little air pillows protecting it on all sides.This jar will house my next terrarium - and it will be easy to build because the opening is so wide that both my hands can reach into the jar with ease. I was able to fit it in the dishwasher without issue, so it is now sanitized and ready to go. I'll use some little rubber bumpers around the rim of the lid to protect lid and jar from accidental damage and give it just a little ventilation while keeping the humidity and springtails within the enclosure.
