Seeking relief from an itchy, sore scalp due to psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis? The clinically proven Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo is the answer. The T/Gel shampoo was especially developed with dermatologists to work in three ways; reducing flakiness, alleviating itchiness, and calming scalp redness. The active ingredient Neutar™ Solubilised Coal Tar extract is clinically proven to help fight dandruff. Neutar has also been shown to relieve itching, reduce the symptoms of psoriasis, break up oils and remove flakes and a keratolytic to loosen and exfoliate skin cells. The lightly fragranced formulation can therefore help in the treatment for itchy, flaky scalp disorders such as dandruff, psoriasis, and seborrheic dermatitis, leaving your hair shiny and manageable.

Regular use of the flaky scalp shampoo for up to 6 weeks will help treat these problems. The T/Gel shampoo can be used by adults and children aged 12 years and over.

Application instructions: Apply liberal amounts of shampoo and massage into the scalp to form a rich lather. Leave the lather on the scalp for several minutes. Rinse and repeat the application once more. The shampoo should not be used more than two or three times a week. If there is no improvement after 6 weeks use, contact your doctor or pharmacist. The Active Ingredient is: Neutar Solubilised Coal Tar Extract 20 mg/ml. Other Ingredients are:Macrogol Lauryl Ether (4), Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate, Cocodiethanolamide, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methyl Parahydroxybenzoate (E218), Propyl Parahydroxybenzoate (E216), Tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid Anhydrous, Perfume (contains Esters of Benzoic Acid, Benzyl Benzoate and Butylated Hydroxytoluene (E321)), Sodium Chloride, Purified Water

Do not use this product: If you have had a bad reaction to coal tar or any ingredients in this product. On inflamed or broken skin. If any of the above applies talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Pregnancy and Breast-feeding: Do not use if you are pregnant or breast-feeding unless recommended by your doctor. Some of the ingredients can cause problems: Methyl (E218) and Propyl (E216) parahydroxybenzoate may cause allergic reactions which could be delayed. Esters or benzoic acid, benzyl benzoate and butylated hydroxytoluene (E321) can mildly irritate the skin, eyes and mucous membranes.

Safety Warning

Before using the shampoo this product is suitable for most people. If you are in any doubt about using this product talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Do not use this product if you have - had a bad reaction to coal tar or any ingredients in this product. - inflamed or broken skin. - a rare and severe form of psoriasis causing redness, inflammation and blistering of the skin (erythrodermic or pustular psoriasis). If any of the above applies talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Special warnings about the product - avoid contact with eyes. - coal tar may cause your skin to react to sunlight after use, so you should avoid direct sunlight immediately after use. - in rare cases, there may be temporary discolouration of blond, bleached or tinted hair. Pregnancy and breast-feeding do not use if you are pregnant or breast-feeding unless recommended by your doctor. Some of the ingredients can cause problems - methyl (e218) and propyl (e216) parahydroxybenzoate may cause allergic reactions which could be delayed. - esters of benzoic acid, benzyl benzoate and butylated hydroxytoluene (e321) can mildly irritate the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Children under 12 years of age should not be used by children under 12 years of age. Adults and children aged 12 years and over apply the shampoo as described above two or three times a week. - treatment should last about 6 weeks. If there is no improvement after 6 weeks consult your doctor or pharmacist. - if irritation develops, stop using the shampoo and contact your doctor if necessary. If anyone has swallowed this product if you or your child accidentally swallows t/gel shampoo, contact a doctor or your nearest accident and emergency department (casualty) taking this pack with you. Possible side-effects this product can have side-effects like all medicines, although these don't affect everyone and are usually mild. Effects which may occur include: - swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing. - allergic reactions including itchy rash and sensitivity to light. - dry hair, hair loss, acne like breakouts or rash. - application site reactions including skin irritation, burning sensation, itching and dry scalp. Reporting of side-effects if you get any side-effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side- effects not listed in this leaflet. Whenever I have any kind of problem on my scalp like dry skin, flaky skin or general itching, out comes the T/Gel and it calms my skin soooo much!.I usually use this between 1-2 times a week whenever I feel my skin is acting up on my scalp, and it seems to work perfectly well!.It does have an unusual smell that my wife always knows when I use it, which to be fair, isn't too bad but it will be noticeable if anyone is close to you.The "gel" is pretty good in regards to only having to use a very small amount as it seems to foam up and cover every area of my scalp that is needed. I just put a little bit on at the start of my shower and do everything before rinsing at the end.Highly recommended if you have scalp problems.

This shampoo is fantastic! It’s incredibly effective at keeping dandruff under control. I've been using it once a week, as recommended, and it works beautifully even when mixed with my regular shampoo on other days.The scent, while it might not appeal to everyone, is actually quite pleasant in my opinion, it adds to the overall therapeutic feel. If it wasn't for the price, I’d definitely use it more often, but even with occasional use, the results are impressive. Highly recommend it for anyone struggling with scalp issues.

1 year update: this shampoo works great but only if you take regular pauses from using it and switch it up with other shampoos. I’ve been using only this shampoo for many months and the positive effects are almost completely gone. My dandruff is back and scalp is still itchy. So I would say keep using it, but don’t make this your primary shampoo as it eliminates the usefulness and your scalp gets used to it/you become immune.Very effective against stubborn dandruff. I've been using it for longer than a year and I keep buying it every 2-3 months cus it is one of the only shampoos that get rid of my dandruff, however, you have to keep using it otherwise it comes back sooner or later. It smells like medicine not a regular commercial shampoo. It is easy to get out of tube. Buy this if you want to get rid of dandruff :)

I’ve been using Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo for a few weeks now, and while it hasn’t worked miracles on my dandruff, I do notice a significant reduction in itchiness when I wash my hair. The cooling sensation is really soothing and does help with the discomfort of an itchy scalp. However, the scent is quite strong—it has a distinct tar-like smell that lingers, so if you’re sensitive to strong fragrances, this may not be for you. Overall, it’s a good product for relief, but not for those looking for a dandruff-free scalp or a more pleasant scent.

I've used this product for many years. It cured my dandruff within a week and it has never returned. The smell is strong, but it is either something you like or hate (I quite like it). Doesn't appear to work for everyone (going by the comments), but well worth trying for yourself if you have a scalp problem.

I’m finding with age that my scalp is drying out more so I got this to try and help. Even after leaving a good conditioner on for 20 minutes, my hair was so nifty and dried like wool. One plus is my head isn’t itchy. Thank god I don’t have to use it e dry wash but I would say it does work. Just have a good conditioner ready and leave it in for a while

I really like this shampoo. It has increased in price since I last placed an order with Bolo. I am unable to find it in stores so my only option is to purchase it from Bolo. I had to wait a long time for delivery as it was shipped from England. It was worth the wait.
