5.0 out of 5 stars Guinea Habitat
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } This cage is perfect for my two guinea pigs, Cookie and Biscuit, to live in indoors over the winter period. Easy access. Love the separation section to make bedroom and play/eating area separate. It seems to provide plenty of space for them. They seem very content. So easy to clean and will be easy to foldaway for when they go back into their outdoor hutch when it gets warmer. I highly recommend. Update: 7th December. Bought a second to provide more space for them and they are soo much happier! One for food and play and the other for calm and sleep. Perfect!
5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal travel cage
We used this so our family could guinea pig-sit while we went away. Very easy to set up and a decent size for a travel cage. I chose not to use the middle panel and it works fine without it. I also cable tied the doors closed so they didn't work themselves open as they seem a bit loose. I can imagine if you had a couple it would be very easy to join them together. The lid is a bit fiddly but clips on for safety.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great cage
Bought it as I was leaving my 3 guinea pigs with a friend for 2 weeks while I was away, and it is a pretty good cage. Easy to put together and take apart, perfect for storage, and easy to clean. Too small for 3 guinea pigs so we expanded it with a run, but I would say that it is an okay size for 2 but definitely go bigger if you can! Overall, lovely cage and very happy with my purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars now my pigs are really happy in their own territory and don't get stressed out ...
This is the minimum size a cage should be for one guinea pig and I wish I had known - the pet shops do not tell you this - my two pigs went into a much smaller cage together and one of them lost an eye in a fight before I separated them into different cages. One is this one and one a larger one, now my pigs are really happy in their own territory and don't get stressed out and injured defending it.The cage is a bit wobbly when you move it about but as it fits under my other cage which is on a stand it doesn't get knocked. I bought the top panel for it as well when we adopted two cats and it works very well - a bit more fiddly to access the pig and the cage for cleaning but workable and worth it for their safety and happiness. The mat at the bottom of the cage has not been chewed by my pigs and seems pretty strong and waterproof. It was easy to put together. Very happy so far!
5.0 out of 5 stars Happy little piggies
I wanted something that wasn’t enclosed for bubble and squeak, after some research I found this. It’s easy to assemble (get a man to do it 😂)I can now sit and watch my winny pigs pop corning and just doing what they do. Iv had this cage for almost two years now and it’s still fantastic condition and usage.I brought the other part separately to make it bigger. They are in the conservatory, so they can watch the wildlife in the garden. In the winter we have a heater on a timer so they are always warm, happy and extremity loved.I would highly recommend this Guinea pig spacious and airy home.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not a great design
Returned it as was not stable and cleaning would have been tougher than a firm base
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent cage
Easy to set up, easy to clean, enough space for the guinea pigs to run around. Worth getting the plus so you can use the top outside. Much better than a store bought cage. Worth the money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love this cage for its openness
Love the cage for practically every reason easy clean and easy to get guinea pig out xxxc
Great cage divider
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } It works exactly as described to divide a large cage to allow guinea pigs to get to know each other but not harm each other.
Maybe a 60 40 for me
Loved the size. Fits perfectly for my 2 piggies. As other reviewers said, the canvas itself is an issue as the piggies have started staining them and chewing off them although i usually had a fleece and pee pads. Especially worse so on the ramp sides, likely one day the canvas on the ramp may be entirely eaten up by them lol.Aside, liked that it is open top, spacious and generally easy to build and maintain. Material seems to be durable as well. Hopefully it does not rust as easy. A little tad expensive though compared to other diy c&c cages.
Worked out well! Fits great.
I needed a replacement cover for my little cage separator bridge. This was great for what I needed.
Love it
I’m really happy with the MidWest Homes for Pets Canvas Bottom Replacement Part for my guinea pig’s habitat! This canvas bottom is a perfect fit for both the Guinea Pig Habitat Model 171GH and the Guinea Pig Habitat 'Plus' Model 171GHP. It’s made from durable, high-quality material that holds up well to daily use and is easy to clean. I was able to replace the old canvas bottom quickly, and it’s now much more comfortable and secure for my guinea pig. The canvas is soft enough for my pet to rest on but also sturdy enough to support their movements without sagging. It’s a great addition that helps to keep the cage looking neat and tidy, and I love how easy it is to remove and wash when necessary. The canvas doesn't absorb odors as much as some other materials, which keeps the cage fresher for longer. I also appreciate the fact that it’s designed to fit perfectly with the habitat, so there’s no need to worry about sizing issues. This replacement part has made my guinea pig's home much more functional and comfortable, and I can tell that my pet enjoys it. The overall quality of the material is excellent, and I feel confident it will last a long time. If you’re in need of a replacement canvas bottom for your guinea pig’s habitat, I would highly recommend this one—it’s a reliable and well-made solution that ensures your pet’s space remains clean and cozy!
