Had many salt and pepper grinders over the years and I can honestly say these are the best I've ever used. Designed to stand with the grinding part upwards, so no "bits" left on the worktop or in the cupboard. nice adjuster on the side to increase or decrease the the pepper/salt size. Nice solid feel to them when holding and grinding with them. They are expensive but well worth a leap of faith. Time will tell on their robustness.

I've always been a fan of OXO's kitchen gadgets. This set is a breeze to use, and putting the grinder mechanism at the top instead of the base? Genius! No more pepper dust on my counters—hooray! Truely "mess free" as they state.I have had my set for around 2 years and my parents came round the other day to cook a roast together and my dad picked up this set and was blown away so I have bought him a set too.

I have always found this brand of kitchen gadgets well designed and reliable, and this is no exception. It is easy to use and having the grinder mechanism at the top rather than the base makes perfect sense to avoid leaving pepper dust on your surface. It’s just hard to get used to after a lifetime of using the other kind! Just misses out on 5 stars as it’s rather plain-looking, not stylish.

I keep buying salt and pepper grinders from supermarkets like Schwarz and own brand and they are often poor quality or when they aren't they aren't refillable. (particularly Schwarz) Would have liked ones that fit on my spice rack, but that isn't an option.So far these are excellent. Made scrambled eggs the other day and my store-own black pepper grinder led to the last mouthful being most of a peppercorn which spoiled it. The store bought pepper grinder has only one setting which is barely grinding at all. These have a fine-grind setting which so far makes everything really fine, which is much better. So far easy to hold, easy to adjust, easy to fill and easy to use. Only had them a few days, so can't really comment on durability, but really like so far based on usabilty.

So hard to buy a pepper grinder, I want something modern, no massive phallic wooden number and certainly not battery operated. I mean really a battery operated pepper grinder, it's just crass! Anyway, this is good. it is made from glass (watch out there is a plastic version) it feels solid, you can vary the size of grind and it looks good and modern. well happy,

Was looking for a salt and pepper shaker that checked all the boxes. Attractive, just the right size, quality material, and good performance. This definitely checked them all. Definitely worth every penny if you are looking for something long term not just trendy. The grind is adjustable on both salt and the pepper. The shakers are designed to be placed upwards so there is no mess on your counter. I love this brand and have purchased many gadgets and figured that these shakers were worth a try. Not disappointed.
