Lucas engine oil stop leak is an all new formulation of Lucas additives and very specific base stocks designed to stop seal leaks in engines. Use 20% of system capacity (example: 1 litre Lucas engine oil stop leak to 4 litres of motor oil) Lucas engine oil stop leak is also effective at stopping leaks in automatic transmissions, hydrostat transmissions or hydraulic systems, 10% is usually adequate.

Good value - bit difficult to use as it’s so thick (should be a clearer on the side so you can see in the bottle ) I had to put in measure before adding to car - however saying that it redeems to perform well, it’s not a cleaner and dose it’s function well helping refresh the seals - use is ok if you can work with the measurements

so far after adding the required amount of lucas oil stop leak (i have enough left for another application) the oil leak at the rear of the crankcase has stopped after only a 50 miles or so.i overhauled the engine a few years ago with many new parts pistons,crankshaft etc and it runs perfectly apart from this oil leak of which the experts said is due to a worn engine crankcase and a new engine is needed.but this Lucas oil engine stop leak so far has done what it said on the bottle STOPPED THE LEAK ! Great product.

I used this as an interim measure to stop/ reduce the leak from the main bearing on my car before a major overhaul to replace the seal. I lowered the oil level to compensate for the correct amount of 10278 Stop Leak to be added. The car has now covered about 300 miles since the 10278 was added and there is a noticeable reduction in oil on my driveway already. Great product, good job!

This stuff looks like Golden syrup or honey mixed with a glue but obviously it is not this. it is proper oil and mineral based product just very viscous. Followed the instructions and so far I am pleasantly surprised. The annoying leak has stopped, need to put some serious hot driving in and see if I still leave a small puddle in the works carpark.My advice to make use easier - it is better if the outside temp is not close to freezing, the colder the temp the thicker the unmixed product the harder to pour.Update after 600 miles, has reduced the leak but not by much, obviously it cannot work for all leaks.

My old Volvo 940 2.3 leaks oil …..it’s done a very high mileage ….we were going to redo the cylinder head ….but that’s pricey ….so …I’ve tried Winns/Stp …and one other ….but still the oil leaks ….so thought I’d give the Lucas one a try …adding my first bottle in 3 stages …some of the leaking stopped …and very little oil could be seen left on the ground …..so I bought another one which I’m adding a small amount to the engine .I’ve only used about 1/4 ….and can see a great improvement …..so in my case ….as I had nothing to lose ….it was well worth a try …and a very inexpensive solution …..so if it works for a while …then I definitely think it’s worth a try .It is very viscous ….I imagine that on an oil change it would be a great asset to add some to old engines .So in my case I recommend it .

I used the product like duz on the packaging and it didn't work, I even increased the dosage and no solution!!! The engine gasket kept leaking as well as money out of my pocket for spending on this product! 😡 Disappointing

I tried this product on my motorcycle as I suspected an oil leak and I must say that I felt the bike running smother than before, I haven't noticed any problem with the clutch but instead the clutch now feels much lighter and easy to use...This product is very thick and I thought to warm up the engine until the fan went on, switched the bike off, I poured about 600ml of lucas into the engine and Stared up the engine again for 10 minutes so I could keep an eye on it...The engine felt smoother straight away, really happy of this purchase. And my ninja is happy to :)

This product works well for non pressurized rubber seals that are dry but not yet broken like valve cover gaskets, vvt solenoid seals, crank seals, cam seals, etc. probably not very effective on pressurized oil seals like oil filter adapter housings. Will absolutely not work on head gaskets because those are metal not rubber so don’t be stupid. I used on a Cadillac North Star I own with many dry rubber seals and it works fantastic and quiets the engine. My car has lots of dry oil seals that I have no interest in fixing all of them and this product is very effective. I use 10 percent approx 10 percent concentration.
Worked for 5 months
Bought this product in early June 2023 and it was added to oil change in July. There were about 6 small leaks and all stopped. Product worked perfect for almost 6 months and then leaks started again. Leaks are no worse than before. I'll buy this product again and update results after next oil change.2024-07-01 I should have updated this several months ago. The leaks that started after 6 months stopped after a couple of days and nothing since. We did an oil change in June-24 and added the Lucas Oil 10278 Engine Oil Stop Leak again with same results... no leaks.
