About this item:
The definitive large-diameter zoom lens for any shoot. To fulfil the uncompromising image quality standard of the Art line, this lens features a power distribution that has been optimized in exacting detail. Three SLD glass lens elements and four spherical lens elements help minimize optical aberrations. To ensure outstanding image quality from the centre to the edges of the photograph, the optical system minimizes coma, which causes points of light to streak, and transverse chromatic aberration, which cannot be corrected by adjusting the aperture. The optical system also minimizes distortion, which can be particularly evident in wide-angle shots, resulting in excellent optical performance throughout the zoom range. Designed for use in a wide variety of situations, the optical stabilizer (OS) offers a powerful stabilization effect of 4 stops. The newly designed hypersonic motor (HSM) offers 1.3 times the torque of its predecessor. Even at low speeds, it offers exceptionally stable performance. Full-time manual focus function allows the lens to be switched to manual focus simply by rotating the focus ring. Since the area of the lens most vulnerable to dust and other foreign bodies is the mount, a rubber sealing helps provide peace of mind. In addition, the front lens element features a water- and oil-repellent coating that helps the lens perform well in the rain, near water, and in other challenging conditions.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT LENS BUT I HAVE A NIGGLE......
Lens arrived on time..... (some 14 days from Hong Kong). Not an Bolo sale. I was impressed by the packaging (from Hong Kong). I noted that it was despatched from a ground floor flat on Devon Rd HK. I was not impressed by the fact that the security seal had been broken on the box it was opened. See photo above. I immediately applied for a return, Then something happened that had not happened before when shopping at Bolo.... the supplier phoned me up to establish what the problem is. I was offered a story I still find a bit thin. Other things that made me curious - not the expected black/red box. No gold lettering on the lense barrel. I am just a bit twitchy. I called the guy back in Leeds after I had opened & tested the lens on my Nikon Z6 24 meg. Pxl. The lense is good... V. good. See the 2 samples above. The money is at 200% enlargement....... The Miranda camera is a studio shot enlarged to 100%. I agreed to keep the lens. The supplier offers the g'tee. Not Sigma. Lets see how it goes.
5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible glass?
I have this lens adapted for use using viltrox EF to RF adapter on my EOS R.To say I'm blown away would be an understatement! This compares in sharpness to my Sigma 35 1.4 and that is an amazing piece of glass that has sharpness for days! It's well renowned for its image quality, and this 24-70 matches up perfectly! If you're a wedding photographer I highly recommend this lens! The images are beautiful!
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing lenses
Easy to use with amazing results
5.0 out of 5 stars Top-class performance and image quality
This Sigma 24-70mm Art lens is simply superb. Image quality is very sharp with great contrast, throughout the entire zoom range. This holds true even when shooting at the widest aperture, which gives beautifully soft and smooth rendition for defocused areas within a scene. Colour fringing, distortions, ghosting and flare are all minimal. Build quality and handling are great and, although it's not a 'weather-sealed' lens, a rubber gasket on the mounting plate helps to avoid the ingress of dust or water between the camera body and the lens. Autofocus is fast yet very quiet, and the optical stailizer has an effectiveness of about 3 to 4 stops.I write camera and lens reviews for a number of photography magazines and use both Canon and Nikon DSLRs. Faced with the choice of which standard zoom lens to buy, and after testing all the options, I went for this Sigma lens in preference to both of the equivalent top-grade Canon and Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 lenses. I don't regret it for a moment.
4.0 out of 5 stars Marvellous gohto piece of kit
This in now my go to lens. It would be 5stars all the way but images are not quite as sharp as those taken with my prime lenses. Having said that, the quality is extremely high so no complaints.
3.0 out of 5 stars UK buyer beware
Bought from Bolo UK. Supplied by Bolo EU. Unfortunately, upon registering discovered that the warranty is not applicable to the UK. £40 extra for any repairs. Would have returned it and bought a legit UK import from another retailer but for the fact that the lens I have needs no additional calibration. That said, I will no longer be buying any other expensive goods supplied by Bolo EU that benefit from warranty registration.
1.0 out of 5 stars Focussing Problems
I bought and returned 2 of these to Bolo. I was using with Canon 80D and found both to have major back focussing issues. I managed to do some corrections but never got them fully working. I didn’t feel it was sensible to keep a £1000+ product I had to fix myself! I would be interested to see if other people experience the same problems (this topic doesn’t come up in any reviews I’ve seen).
1.0 out of 5 stars Not worthy of the "Art" badge.
I purchased this lens from Wex Photographic a couple of weeks ago but had to return it as it's horribly soft. I tried using the Sigma USB dock to do some micro adjustments, however found that it didn't help. Using the lens at 24mm I found I had to stop down to about f8 to achieve a level of sharpness that was "satisfactory". Throughout the rest of the focal range, it was ok from about f5.6 and smaller. I did not expect a brand new Sigma Art release to be as much of a disappointment as this was. Seeing as f2.8 is unusable, you may as well go for the Sigma 24-105 f4 Art for much better sharpeness and a fraction of the price.
Sharp, Sharp, Sharp
If your looking for a quality lens, look no further. Build and optics at top notch. Many reviewers discuss weight and it’s not without merit however optics and build quality trump weight for me. The ability to fine tune the autofocus it’s truly spectacular. This lens is consistently better than my Nikon AFS equivalent. Plus stabilization! I do wish it had the ability to adjust the stabilization sensitivity like it’s longer focus equivalents via the usb dock. But it’s just a wish. Not a deal breaker. Both the Sigma “art” series and Tamron SP series lenses are truly worth looking into vs OEM with their focus “fine-tune” ability via external usb docs. It’s a MUST purchase with the lens. I say this because a OEM AFS VR 2 lens of mine is tack sharp on my D810 but absolutely not so on my D850! Now I could send in the lens and body to be fine tuned with service ( at a significant fee ) and then what? Have that same issue with my 810 after? So I just figured I’d order the Sigma 70-200 sport series and calibrate focus to my 850. Tack sharp and DONE! If budget is a concern, and you already have a high end OEM and experiencing a similar issue to the one I had. Poor focus between two bodies you can have stored “preset” setting in your lap-top to adjust the focus settings so the one lens works on either body. Just not a option for me if I chose to bring both bodies to a shoot.
Ottimo obiettivo.
