5.0 out of 5 stars Great Portable Shaver !
I only purchased a replacement foil + cutter for a Remington portable shaver around six months ago and the foil has already worn through ! I'd used Remington's own 'Shaver Saver' spray on the cutter and foil to try to prolong the life of them, but this didn't seem to do a great deal to prevent wear ! So, whilst contemplating the purchase of new Remington foil pack, I happened to come across this Braun portable shaver at a price much less than a new Remington foil pack.Other reviewers have mentioned it seems to take longer to shave with this shaver and I'd agree with this. If you miss a day shaving, then it's best to have a backup shaver which is more capable at removing stubble or you'll be literally 'going round in circles' on your face for quite a while !! You will still require another shaver/trimmer for side burn / other awkward little hairs etc. as this particular model isn't equipped with a pop-out trimming cutter. If you can live with the slowish cutting speed of this shaver, then it will get the job done and give a quite a smooth result. I have been using rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) AA 2700mAH batteries and find these will last over a month. It should be noted that these batteries will slow the cutters down even more than the Alkaline batteries provided, due to the lower 1.2 Volts compared with 1.5 Volts for a single Alkaline battery. It's just more cost-effective using rechargeable batteries. After cleaning, I'm applying a few drops of pure silicone oil (with the cutter running) every three or four days, to try to extend the life of the cutter/foil. Silicone oil is non-toxic and odourless. Only time will tell if this does work. It does seem to improve the cutting action just after an application due to the lubricating qualities of the oil.The rotating, protective cover is a great idea. I've damaged a few exposed shaver foils in the past, so this may just save this foil from accidental knocks ! The cleaning brush sits in a small recess at the base of shaver and works quite effectively. To sum up, great little shaver, has some limitations regarding cutting speed/time to complete a shave but for the price who can complain ? This shaver has been reduced to a very attractive price by Bolo from time-to-time. A price-tracker site, such as camelcamelcamel, might be helpful, especially if you don't need this shaver urgently (set your desired price to less than 10 Pounds).*** Edit 3-4-15 *** After just over 12 Months (daily usage) the cutter and foil are still performing well and aren't showing any signs of wear. The addition of silicone oil really does seem to help in this respect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just the job
A handy travel shaver that runs on 2x AA batteries (supplied). This is the cheaper M60 model from Braun - and has no beard trimmer attachment. That's not an issue for me! However, if you need a trimmer, get the M90 model - which is otherwise identical - but over twice the price......I find this razor particularly handy on holidays - when a single set of new alkaline batteries is more than sufficient for 14 days shaving. It's small, lightweight and easily fits into a suitcase or backpack pocket.Despise only costing ~£15 on Bolo, the shaver gives a quick and reasonably close shave. A small brush is clipped into the base for easy cleaning with a rinse under a tap.In conclusion, a very reasonable price and quick delivery 👌
5.0 out of 5 stars These are BETTER than any electric razor
I've been using these for 20+ years. Better than every electric razor I've ever tried. Worth having more than one, one for home, one in the car, & on in your travel bag
1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't shave
I usually shave once a week - This shaver doesn't shave at all if your moustache / beard grows longer after a few days. Also, the foil breaks after a few months use.Avoid.
3.0 out of 5 stars Latest model retains convenience of previous version but is less durable
This successor to the M60, which I purchased in 2014, remains relatively cheap and convenient. But, based on my experience, this successor version is far less durable. Just today, my M90, purchased in January 2023, became unusable when the foil shielding the reciprocating blades from one's skin became detached from its frame. This failure occurred in less than a year of light use vs. 9 years with the prior model. Deciding mow whether to get a replacement. I probably won't as I have a quality electric shaver from Philips, which is still going strong.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Superb and Economical Shaver that Does the Job!
Braun PocketGo M60b MobileShave Portable Foil Shaver with SmartFoilI can easily measure how long I've been using the Braun pocket shavers by the age of my children, as the first one I ever bought was on exiting the customs hall at Heathrow. At the time they were only £8. And whilst the price has changed, the quality and dependability has not.First, I tend to take an economical approach (actually, I'm just cheap!) when it comes to buying things for myself. I never in my dreams could imagine paying £50-100 for a shaver. But I did make it a point to compare. What I like about Braun is the single foil which allows me to trim around my moustache and nose, which I can't achieve with those multiple circular 'floating' blades.I also made it a point to compare the similar but more expensive Braun shavers. Other than various permutations of ancillary features, such as a side-burn trimmer, there actually is NO difference in the product! The foil and cutting device on the M60 is no different than that on the M90 and the more expensive ones as well! (they ALL have 'Smart' foil!)And whilst this one is not waterproof, I challenge anyone to say the Braun doesn't excel far beyond those tiny little razors that are being advertised on late hour telly for ridiculous prices. I have a Braun in my car's glove box, one in my desk drawer at my office, and one in my laptop bag.Following the ensuing paranoia after September 11, I discovered that when stopping over in Tokyo enroute from London to Sydney, I could no longer obtain a razor to shave with when I take my showers in JAL's First Class lounge. The staff directed me to the terminal's electronic shop where I bought my second Braun. Since then I've never been without several.Yes, the foil does wear thin after five-six months, which they're expected to do. You can easily buy replacement foils, but my logic is why bother - a new one actually costs less than buying new foils.Frankly, I'm hooked on these little things. I have a ceiling on price and refuse to buy them until I see them on offer for around a tenner. Fifteen years ago I was paying £8 for one. Now it's circa £12 from Bolo with free delivery. But occasionally you can get them for even less!If you're a practical person as I am, I encourage you to give one a try. If you must buy by price, regardless of whether you're getting value for money, you can get the very same razor in a posh box, with an electric lead, and adapters for around £100. But there are far more things I can spend the difference on!And I should add, this nifty little razor comes with Duracell batteries and a functional little cleaning brush, conveniently fitted into the razor casing. Give it a try - you have nothing to lose other than a few errant whiskers!Oh, and ladies, I'm told with excellent authority, they're great for legs, arms and the nether-regions as well!Excellent!
