Have tried so many creams, oil's over the years, they used to smell nice but never helped with my dry skin. I was recommended this by a friend and decided to give it a go. More expensive than usual brands but well worth the money, a little goes a long way and despite winter weather, central heating my skin looks and feels so much better.

The positives:I have very dry and sensitive skin, so got this unperfumed cream to help it stay soft. It works very nicely as a base for essential oils. I put 3-4 drops of lavender essential oil in my palm and then pump out some of this cream to mix it with and apply to my face before sleeping. So this helped with both: falling asleep (I used to have trouble with this) and keeping the skin soft and unblemished. Since the cream is a bit 'dense' and heavy, the oil also helps to dilute it and make it easier to rub in.This is a good sized bottle: it's lasted for a year and is only 1/4 empty. So the bottle probably lasts for at least 2 years, depending on how much you use it.A very useful detail in the design: the bottle has a nozzle which twists to lock, which means I can keep it in my bedside drawer without worrying about accidental spills.On the downside:Have to say the cream works nicely overnight, but skin is still dry after the next time I've taken a warm shower - so doesn't make that much of a difference to skin moisture when used long term. Can also be a bit greasy to put on in the morning before going out.

This cream has literally stopped my itching within a day or so of starting it. I cannot believe it, I have spent most of 2021 itching all over, not sleeping more than an hour at a time, waking up to scratch and making my skin bleed. It has been burning too. My GP nurse told me I had a fungal infection and impetigo and have had loads of prescription creams but nothing seemed to really work. I have finally seen a Dermatologist and I have discoid eczema. This cream was recommended and and I have been using it morning and evening for about 5 days now and my skin is so much better, it is not itching at all and is looking and feeling better. It is easy to use and soaks in well, slight smell at first. I have some steroid cream for a large patch on my arm but I use Cetraben all over and has really helped. Finally I am getting some sleep again! Will definitely buy more.

Love this stuff-have been using for years
i have been using Cetraban for years. I first stumbled upon it because my daughterdaughter has suffered with dermatitis/eczema most of the lotions and creams n the shelves were doing nothing to help her in between flare ups. Actually my hubby also jus suffers from dry skin . Its as if his skin just swallows up the lotions, leaving no trace, that he'd ever used any.I was living in England at the time & my colleague had this on her desk. I had used some day after washing my hands (which were very dry) I noticed that my hands felt truly moisturized and it lasted. We got talking, she suggested I should buy it as she also really loves it. The only hitch was that you could only purchase it over the counter at a pharmacy.Now I live in the US. you can't purchase cetraban so readily here. we have tried all the major creams and lotions on the market for soothing dry skin & dermatitis, we have not found success with any them,, really aside from aquafor. but aquafor can be really thick and/or more vaseline based. Not necessarily ideal to use on the face.Some things that I love about Cetraban is that you can use it as an emolient, so fo my daughter, she can't use just any facial wash and we go through our share of body washes as well for that reason. I like that you can turn it into an emolient then turn around and use it as a moisturizer. It works really well on normal to extremely dry skin. it lasts for quite some time. you don't need to use loads. it has a locking mechanism to stop excess and also so you don't push on the pump by accident. We use this al around on everyone in my family. I introduced to my sister, who loves in France (here I would say they have pretty good creams and lotions in their pharmacy as well) but she also quite liked Cetraban. It's not something you can get there easily either.The consistency of the cream is not so thick you feel like you're wearing a mask.the cons- its hard to come by here in the US.it's on the expensive side (but worth it).The container it comes in is bulky and has a heavy base, so it's not a cream you can travel with on a plane or if weight is a factor in your travel.

Moisturiser for sensitive skin
Excellent all purpose moisturiser. Excellent for dry and scary skin.
An important addition to my newly started skin care routine.
I learned of this moisturizer on youtube from Dr. Vanita Rattan a dermatologist specializing in skin issues for people of color. As I am aging I noticed my skin is tight, dry and feels unhealthy. However because I've always had areas of oiliness the last thing I thought to do is put a thick cream on my face until I listened to Dr. Rattan. Not only has this improved my facial skin but I also use in on my forearms that get all the sun from driving and just regular exposure, and I've noticed an improvement in the elasticity of my skin in just a couple of weeks. Plus this is affordable! Following a simple routine morning and evening including this moisturizer in the evening has created a noticeable difference.*NOTE* I have found I cannot use this in the morning before work or before going out because it doesn't really have time to soak in well before I have to leave, so my makeup does not apply as well as it does with my lighter moisturizer. This does not deter me from using it because the benefits it gives me in the evening is excellent. Highly recommend, however as someone in the medical field I agree that everyone should always consult a medical professional before trying anything.
