I first dipped my toes into the Crucial MX500 range with the purchase of the 500GB model when they first came out, and was very happy with it. I went on to buy a couple more of those as prices began to fall; then I bought the 1TB version as the price was around £96 at the time, and again very happy.This 2TB version is even better! Slightly faster and with better MTBF rating, and the price was very agreeable! I had a shift about, ditching my OEM Toshiba 5,400rpm legacy drive in my laptop for the 1TB MX500 ( that was previously in my main PC ) and I put the 2TB drive in my main PC as main drive. Easy EASY process as crucial provide data transfer software on their website. Both devices gained a new lease of life and better responsiveness. Highly recommended bit of kit!

I have purchased memory from crucial over many years. They manufacture memory, storage devices and nothing else. This SSD was purchased to revive a seven year old laptop with a flagging hard drive. I tried to clone the existing hard drive to the SSD prior to installation without success as the Acronis software did not detect the presence of the drive. I decided to opt for a clean installation of the Operating System (OS) after the drive was installed. Installing the drive was straightforward and using a bootable USB drive installing the OS was both simple and fast. Replacing the hard disk drive with an SSD drive is a worthy and inexpensive upgrade breathing new life into older hardware, prolonging its life. Something we should all be doing. The drive is backed by a five year warranty and offers good value for money. I would recommend this product to anyone considering upgrading.
