Gave them a 5 star rating as there a great set of compact, well built and accurate set of scales at a reasonable price, although the the automatic hold function is great it can also be a little frustrating at times, when the scales have been zeroed they sometimes hold at a low weight before I've had chance to weigh the fish but a quick push of the power/zero button resets them to zero. I see no reason to to mark them down for something simple. I would recommend these scales to any fisherman/woman tight lines.

For the price you cannot go wrong with these scales they are extremely accurate and small enough just to leave them in the bottom of your fishing bag even if you are not targeting big specimen fish, just in case you hook into a new PB. I cannot recommend this product enough :)

These are a good set of scales that have served me well over the last three years - and I'm still on the same battery.They provide measurements in both LB and KG and there is also a memory function (that I confess I don't use due to the buttons being confusing when it comes to this feature). It does "hold" the weight once the scales settle which is a nice feature but not unique as most scales do this.I've given this 4/5 stars because there are a few negatives, firstly that whilst the hook does have a rubber attachment that means you can fold it into the main body, this doesn't fit flush. So when you pack the scale the hook often pops out. Secondly that the scales are not 100% accurate and at some weights can vary by 1oz (I've had these tested at the Tenchfishers General Meetings). Lastly, the menu system is a little confusing and as the buttons protrude from the body they can be pressed when packed into your bag - this was an irritation when I first owned them as it would change the units from LB to KG and I'd have to figure out how to change it which is not intuitive.On the whole I'd recommend them, but a better buy in my opinion - and the scale I've just changed to - is the Korum Digital Scale which addresses all of the above negatives. However nothing is perfect, as this scale weighs 4oz/135g which is a lot lighter than the Korum scale which 9oz/260g and is also two thirds of the price (at the time of writing these were £19, the Korum were £35)My main reason for the switch was that the hook didn't fit into the body, the rubber attachment on the hook seems to be an afterthought by Berkley (I've attached a photo to this review). This was irritating when trying to grab the scale out of my bag in a hurry with the hook catching on other items in the bag.

Excellent and easy to use. However don't leave the batteries in when leaving this scale in your tackle box as they will be flat when you come to use it on your next trip. Remember to buy spare batteries too!

I have used this digital fish scale to weigh everything from fish to carry-on and checked baggage. I have discovered that there are a number of other similar scales, which look like they come from the same manufacturer, of much lower price.

This is the second one of these scales I have had (the first one is at the bottom of my favourite lake) and I think it is good value for money. As most lakes ban keep nets it is handy to be able to store up to 10 individual weights and have a total weight available.

This equipment has worked well for me so far boat fishing. The only feature I would have added would have been fish grips instead of a hook for weighing live fish without harm.

perfect upgrade from the original
I had the original one of these for a long time probably 20 years. I decided it was time for a new one. This one fits the bill and seems very accurate. Pair it with a fish grip and it is a great setup top weigh a big bass.
