5.0 out of 5 stars Mechanical timers
Easy to set, the timers are good for switching lights on and off, giving the impression that there’s someone in the house. Also useful for external lights and multiple other uses.
5.0 out of 5 stars Me
Works and good for the price
4.0 out of 5 stars Works well, fairly quiet too
Does the job perfectly well, can only hear it when there is absolute silence
5.0 out of 5 stars Works
Works out the box. Quality is ok. Easy to use. Timer function works well just remember that if you have a powercut you may need to reset the time dial.
3.0 out of 5 stars Great idea in theory
I was using this with an oil radiator in winter and was a great idea but it has a flaw. When putting in a plug, the top of the plug sits too high and ends up pressing in all of the prongs as it moves. In order to have it work properly I had to pull the plug out a bit which isn't overly safe. It also makes a ticking noise. Not too loud but enough to hear in the dead of night
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use simple instructions
Had issue with family being noisy playing online games off my WiFi and getting up at 6am and then screening at 2am was not fun so bought this timer plug to kill power to WiFi at midnight and turn back on early hours of morning have tried it overnight and seems to be working wellThe timer buttons /push clips can be fiddly there’s no noise from it so all good slightly larger than normalPlug
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for darker nightsv
Great item for the darker night’s lighting up rooms etc quiet noise level easy to operate goes no look out of place
4.0 out of 5 stars Basic, but it does the job - can't complain for the price!
If you are looking for a timer that synchronizes with the NASA's nuclear clock, then I'm afraid this won't be for you. If you want something to turn on roughly at some given time, and then turn off at roughly some other given time, then it's perfect. The dial is too small to be overly accurate when it comes to setting the time (unless you can judge by eye a quarter of a degree angles per minute for a tiny dial) so if you're desperate for accuracy, or are trying to perfectly synchronize it with other timers, then this is most certainly not for you. Your best bet is to set it to the nearest quarter of an hour and go from there – and it will reliably do what it’s told day in day out.The actual mechanical switches are flimsy, difficult to differentiate and set, but with a little effort there's nothing really wrong with the timer. Of course this is under the assumption that it is for a basic non-time sensitive application. We use it to start a lava lamp in the living room, and despite my best efforts it turns on 4 minutes late. But honestly? Who cares. The duration of time it will be on will be perfect, but the actual initiation time will vary depending on patience. We haven’t had any issues with loss of time, although it if strays too far it can be twisted back to where it was fairly easy. The sound to us is inaudible, but having used a variety of timers for various applications over the years, I know that they can drive you up the wall if you are in a truly quiet room at midnight – so don’t take my endorsement as gospel. The build quality is decent, but clearly wouldn’t stand up to frequent and regular changes, but for everyday tasks it’s perfect. It doesn’t take up too much room in the socket and you could easily place plugs, or even other timers, next to it (as the pictures show.)Overall, decent for the price and if your uses are limited. For time sensitive and similar tasks I’d go digital.
