5.0 out of 5 stars Knee support which works and is not excessively cumbersome

    p. · 9 December 2023

I purchased two of these. I bought one and then after seeing its quality/price and fit bought a second.MY NEED: With the onset of age and arthritis I felt I needed some medium support for hill walking.I did not want a heavy duty support with side supports so decided to try this support.THE QUALITY: The support is well made and the inside is a soft material finish. The stitching looks sound and after several wearings did not show any sign of coming loose. Washing instructions are provided on a small label.COMFORT & USE : The support was worn during warm weather but it was not excessively hot wearing the support. Neither was it uncomfortable but I was aware of the support - a bit like being aware that you are wearing clothes or carrying a rucksack. The support did do what it claimed and helped during hill walking. It did not make the arthritis go away - its not a magic wand and does not claim that - but it did make it more comfortable. In conclusion I was satisfied enough that these helped my hill walking and will wear them whenever I go hill walkingSIZE: I found that these were just large enough but only just to fit my knee. The support fitted my knee which has a circumference of around 43/44cm measured just above the knee when my leg and thigh were at right angles and 42/43cm when the leg was straight.VALUE: These are medium/light duty supports. But being medium/light duty means that for me the compromise between getting support, cost of the support, and comfort was justified. For me these are just about reasonable value for the price (£10) I paid and the cost benefit/quality was good enough for me to purchase a second. If this changed I would re-evaluate

4.0 out of 5 stars Needs lots of readjusting but healed my knee!

Title sounds a bit over the top but it worked. and I dont know how.Bought this product because I had some knee problems from squatting too heavy too fast.I would get paid when walking for a long time and after taking a break it would not go away. I used this in combination with taking a squat break and my knee feels perfect again. Although I have not tried squatting since due to cancelling my gym membership.I mainly wear it at home or when sleeping. this is due to the fact your knee gets quite hot and sweaty when this is on so I find requires frequent "breathing sessions". I work in an office so cant really keep rolling up my trouser legs.I also find that it gets tight or needs readjusting every so often due to the velcro slipping down my leg (I have small knees so maybe that is a factor) so again, I find it better to use when at home than at work/out,I would like to explain how it works but I am honestly not sure. Regular use of this product just seemed to stop me getting pain in my knee so I cant really complain. It is durable and of high quality with great warmth and support. I can see this product lasting for a while which is great if I ever need it in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best knee brace for me

Bracoo knee braces are the best ones I have found. I like the fact that you can use the Velcro fastenings to get the most comfortable fit around the knee. I use them on a daily basis as I have osteoarthritis in both knees and these braces definitely ease my pain when walking. They are very durable and I have found the Velcro remains good for a number of months. I have been using Bracoo braces for a few years now and find them the best for me.

Brought this for myself as I have pain in my knee anyway I tried it today and it pointless it kept rolling down and bunching so If you have a fat knee don't bother don't get me wrong it has things going for it example: its comfortable, stretchability is good that's about it if it would have fitted me I would agree the Durability is great and it fits perfectly but it doesn't

    Perfect for Patella/Quadricep Tendon Injuries

    M. · 20 May 2023

Something popped out of place in knee suddenly when squatting one day and sharp pain ensued. Needed something quick. I got this knowing nothing about my injury or anything in the knee region. It looked like it could alleviate pain so I gave it a try & purchased before I could get to a knee person /physical therapist.By coincidence this brace was perfect for what I had. Once I got to the appt to see a PT, I showed the brace and my PT told me it was a patella brace which was in line with my injury. How did it work? From day one it kept my patella in place and I notice right away I wasn’t repeatedly injuring it as much as it kept the area secure so that it could be allowed to heal. I’ve been wearing it for two weeks and even slept in it the first night. I believe it has sped up my healing. Now I don’t need it as much as the inflammation is down and range of motion is slowly returning. I purchased other braces such as a Mueller, 3M, etc, but those hurt and did not protect or keep my quadricep tendons in place like this did. Many pulled down the tendon which made use more painful. If you have patella or tendon issues around the knee this may work. My issue is probably not as bad as it could be. PT told me with massage therapy I could be healed pretty quickly. My injury was one that caused tendon inflammation and misplacement of the tendon which is still very painful! Find out what part of your knee is causing problems and if it’s the patella or quad tendons in this region I can vouch for this as a potentially good brace.Out of the pkg, It fits a little large for me but I was able to adjust as tight as I needed for a fit that worked perfectly. I like that it’s an open wrap around closure vs the ones you need to slide on. For me anything with slide on was painful & did not work. The Velcro is strong and I have no complaints on this product.UPD: October 2023Had another run in with the knee. This time not as bad but, Pulled out my brace and only needed it for a couple days. It restricts motion so you can stop injuring it without realizing thru daily activities. I really like this brace. It’s proven to be a life saver. Extra star added.

Purchased for right knee in 2016, now left knee in 2022

    X. · 26 October 2022

I like back country hiking and camping. Unfortunately the elevation changes wreck my knees. The first time I realized that my right knee gets messed up with this was after Day 1 of a three day backpacking trip in 2014. On the morning of day 2 my knee was in agonizing pain (I think it's called runners knee) and I had to turn back, taking a day and a half to cover what had taken an afternoon the day before. I thought I was done with backcountry hiking, which is something I love. However using this brace, in conjunction with trekking poles, I can do everything I've always been able to do and not get any pain. These types of knee braces are magic. Not only do they prevent pain, if you've been negligent and didn't put it on and get knee pain, then put the brace on, the pain will be instantly reduced by so much that it's completely tolerable to hike.Case in point, I just returned from 3 day/2 night Highland backpacking trail in Algonquin (Oct 2022). This is when I found out I don't have a bad knee, I have 2 bad knees. 36km total. 16km first day. Started the hike with the brace on my bad right knee. 11km in I start to feel the familiar type of pain associated with runners knee on my left knee. This is a conundrum. 12km and it was too late. My left knee was shot. I had no choice but to take my brace from my right knee and move it to the left knee. I know I can walk about 8km before I get pain in my right knee, and camp is only 4km away. All good. Make it to camp no problem. Left knee is sore-sore, but I can hike fine with the brace on.Next morning the brace has to go on my bad, left knee. With trepidation I set off. Sure enough, 4km into the hike I start to feel a tinge of the runners knee pain in my right knee. I stop immediately, take out a pair of cheap, white, ankle socks, cut a hole in the toes of one and pull it up over my right knee like a tensor bandage and roll up the other sock and slide it up under in a circle around my knee cap. Basically creating a temp brace. Works perfect. I hike the other 8km that day without pain, and the 8km the following morning without any issues at all. Because I stuck my homemade brace on at the first sign of pain, the pain never got worse. I had to go a bit slower when descending because of my left knee, but for the most part, with the braces on my bad knees simply weren't a factor. It's the day after that trip, and I just ordered a second brace for my other bad knee.I simply cannot say enough good things about these types of braces. Maybe once or twice a day, depending on just how much my knee is bending/elevation changes, I will have to stop and readjust the brace. Takes a minute... a minute well spent. On an ordinary, flat, non backcountry hike I doubt I'd have to adjust it at all during a full day of hiking. If you get this type of runners knee where it's agonizing and feels like your knee cap is pinching or grinding and causing excruciating pain, seriously, at the very least try these braces out. I only have my own experience to speak from, but obviously I'm a believer.
