Bought this to stabilise my knee which suffered quad ligament detatchment 6 years ago. Whilst ive had numerous surgerys (15) on my knee to its only been good enough to walk.This brace enabled me to go skiing with no issues at all! None! I ski hard and fast 50 to 70mph and it held my knee in extreme pressure. I crashed a few times and still this brace stood firm.Its comfy, the straps are adjustable to wear i need them and the hinges smooth and without restriction. Had a couple of side impacts to the hinge on the right and they held fast!

Has Cross strapping others do not appear to have this. My wife uses this and loves it. I was worried it might be to tight because the size of her knee was just over the 15 inch limit with the medium support. Some reports say it goes loose over time and the elastic fails to the rear. I cannot comment on this.She says it supports her knee well. It looks and feels well made. It it does go lose as they say after lots of use I will modify it with a another strap because the who thing is so well made. The cross straps allow for a perfect fit top and bottom support over the kneecap. I did not see this on some of the other supports and they pushed the kneecap patella down into the knee. The kneecap slider joint that fist starts to ware over time so this design allows for support without pushing down on it. My wife has a brain injury that does not allow her to flex certain muscles or use them together with her limp her knee has failed and physiotherapy may be difficult to support her knee.

The following is just my personal experience of this product. I have no medical knowledge and I'm unable to advise if this product would work for you. You need to do your own research and come to your own conclusions.I Purchased this to see if it would allow me to ski with a ruptured ACL and meniscus tear while waiting for reconstruction surgery. I was able to ski for the whole week of our holiday and I believe it did help with the ACL rupture. I did have some pain from the meniscus tear and I don't think this item helped with that aspect of the injury. However, by restricting the range of bending of my knee I was able to avoid the region where the meniscus tear caused me pain for most of the time. I wore the item quite a few times leading up to the holiday to 'break it in' and found that during the holiday I could wear it all day with reasonable comfort. I'm not saying this would work for everyone as my injury was several months old and was reasonably stable by time we went on holiday. Also, I want to re-iterate that I don't think this would help significantly with a meniscus tear as I believe the pain from this type of injury is due to downward pressure as the joint rotates past the tear.

I have a full ACL rupture in my left knee. This brace is fantastic - has cross straps above and below the kneecap for ligament support and metal lever that prevents hyperextention. I used it on my 10 day ski holiday and it is comfortable (worn whole day) and sturdy. Fell several times on the slope and brace gave me peace of mind. Just worth noting that at the point when I went skiing my injury was around 7 months old, had 2 months of physio in the run up to skiing, am relatively sporty 27 year old female and was waiting for my ACL reconstruction surgery. Having a brace reduces risk of further injury (at least reminds you not to do stupid things on the slopes). Overall well worth the money and I was very glad not to have cancelled my ski holiday.

The support brace arrived promptly, well packed and in excellent condition and well made. However, on trying it on, the tightness around the knee made it hurt and unsuitable for my failed unicompartmental knee replacement. l therefore had to return it.

Would highly recommend this support, tried cheaper ones only to send them back.this is level 3 support which very supportive if you are looking for a knee support try to pick one that pulls on over the knee much more comfortable then the ones that do up behind the knee in my opinion.i know its not cheep but its helped me, i also use a mueller HG 80 support which is level 2 is also very good depends on your knee injury hope this helps.

This is the best knee brace I've used. Bought it for running and playing 5 aside football and it gives such great support.I snapped my cruciate ligament ACL a few years back and have had two surgeries. This knee brace has given me the confidence to play football again.PROS- great knee stability- seems extremely durable- lots of straps to keep the brace in place- comfortable for a few hours of sport- forget you're wearing the brace after 5 minutesCONS- is bulkier- leg gets sweaty

I bought this knee support as I have arthritis in the knee which is quite debilitating.I measured the knee and was at the top end of the size chart so I ordered the XL as recommended.My complaint is that I have suffered a wound injury as a result where the hinge rubs on the flesh.Stability is EXCELLENT.The fact that it does what it claims to do makes it value for money.I will buy another one, the next size up as I believe it to be well engineered and a fantastic product.I've been unlucky and do t believe it is an item that you can send back when you've used it.

Reviewed: October 14, 2024.Thos will be our 4th or 5th purchase of these McDavid hinged type knee brace supports.I started using these when my knee cap popped out of place, and over to the side. It could happen if I was simply just sitting there.These offer fantastic support. The hinges allow me to have a great range without hampering me on most of what I want to do. They adjust great without cutting off my circulation.For the most part, they are very easy to slip on, and then adjust their tightness.Each one of these with constant 24 hour use last me about 8 months.I have an alert that let's me know when it drops down in price so I can save about $15- 20+ over normal price.Multiple people in our house wear these do to various things.In my opinion, if you are prone to knee issues, this is the brace/support to have on hand at all times.If you injure your knee, you'll end up buying a cheaper quality, less effective brace at the drug store of you don't have this one.I I've used other brands, and their build quality, design, or range of motion just don't match up to McDavid, for this specific type.

Excellent brace for torn meniscuses and ACL support
I am in my late 50s. I am a keen skier and I have a twenty-five-year-old full ACL rupture in my left knee from an earlier skiing accident. The same knee also suffered a volleyball accident that resulted in torn meniscuses. I have tried a variety of knee braces for skiing over the years and they kept me in the slopes, but with some pain and swelling around my left knee. Today I’m just back home after one week in the Dolomites. I ‘we been skinning for six days straight, and my knee feels great. The enclosed instructions advise not to wear for more than 2-3 hours, but I have worn it for well over six hours per day, every day of my vacation. During the week there has been no swelling or pain in the knee, just some small red marks on the skin that will go away after a couple of days. This brace is well worth the money, and I’m very glad that I bought one!

Erg fijne brace denk ik. Maar m bleek te ruim, heb niet veel spiermassa. Helaas geen s verkrijgbaar. Met name kruisbandage lijkt mij erg ondersteunend.

Excelente calidad en el material. Las cintas que cruzan en la parte superior e inferior proporcionan la primera parte de su firmeza y las tiras finales le dan una sujeción muy importante que evitan que la rodillera se mueva de su lugar. Pedí la talla justa a mi tamaño, al principio quedó un poco justa, pero se sintío una firmeza muy agradable en la rodilla. Con el uso aflojo un poco y queda perfecta! La uso para todo propósito y hay momentos que ni la siento.Estoy realmente contento con la rodillera y muy cómodo con su soporte.
