5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely incredible.
Beautiful looking and sounding guitar straight from the box! It can use some minor tweaks to make it feel right for each individual but it is a great practice guitar for the price! Very well finished, Not far off being in tune from the box also! Great quality.
5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding !
I have already done my ABRSM gradings to grade 8 and have played professionally in restaurants. I gave up six years ago owing to family commitments. I decided to dip my toe back into classical playing with a budget guitar and WOW ! Straight out of the box this is grrrrreat ! Lovely tone, volume, balance and looks. Despite what others say here I have found that the strings and the set up are absolutely fine (a classical guitar is meant to have a high action.) Of course, back and sides are laminate but several guitars have caused me to notice that tone woods aren't what count - correct dimensions, fan bracing and scalloping are and the internals of this guitar are way beyond its budget with those things included. The intonation is spot on all the way up the neck, the back of which has a satin feel to it. The frets are well aligned and there are no sharp edges that you would expect to find on a cheap guitar.I've even read someone complain that it has no truss rod but classical guitars never do have them. This is an accurate feature. I LOVE this Indonesian guitar and it is a good guitar at ANY price and is a joy to play. Don't hesitate to get one.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good value, playable guitar
I've played guitar, mostly electric for over 50 years. This C40 is good value, but obviously for the money not perfect- what would you expect? The finish is acceptable looking at the top, but the neck and heel shaping is a bit rough, but this doesn't impair playability. A large area of cost on all guitars is in the finishing so you get what you pay for and undoubtedly if you had purchased a similar model a few years ago the finish would have been better, but for £100 you can barely buy a few groceries these days so... The neck and fret board are good and yes the frets could do with polishing, but you can do that yourself- google how to do it. The action is within standard settings, but for electric guitarists probably a bit high, but of course there is less tension in the strings than the average electric so not that hard to get used to. I will probably shave my bridge piece down about 1.5mm (from the bass side only) leaving the treble height as it is. I found after a day and constant tuning the strings began to settle and be more reliably in tune for longer periods- best to use a headstock mounted electronic tuner so its handy all the time. The sound when the guitar is in tune is pretty good to my ear and also quite loud. I find the lack of fret board markers a bit awkward and so I will most likely put some guides on myself with white paint. Another thing the intonation is sufficiently good and I've found playing chords all up and down the board sound right- often on cheap guitars nothing sounds right and is often the result of inaccurate fretting, misplaced bridge etc etc.All in all a good buy. I've given it five stars for value. Yamaha make very good value guitars especially at the cheap electric end, but some of their more expensive electro acoustics suffer from severe mis placement of the neck in terms of angle to the body- a fault virtually impossible to rectify.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great guitar
Very good quality guitar, was worried when read the reviews about it coming damaged etc but came well packaged in good condition very light and easy to hold depending on experience and size, suitable to use a tuner, one or 2 of the strings seem a little thinner/easier to break. Bought for child to learn on first guitar. Decent price. Can't complain.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great value for money
I have a number of guitars and wanted a Spanish style but didn’t want to pay too much. So after some research, decided to try this.Out of the box it played and sounded great. Restrung it with quite expensive strings to see if I could get an even better sound. To be honest there was not a great difference so it must come with decent strings to start with. For around a £100 it’s not going to look like premium model but it looks fine. The way it sounds and plays is more important for me and if I’d payed three times more I would still be very satisfied.Overall, a bargain.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the money - I'm delighted and would ge it again !
I got this with an Bolo limited offer - at £100 off the price from the Yamaha store in the UK.I was worried that this was a dud batch being sold off - but it turned out fine; no sign of distorted fretbard or delaminating wood. Instead it was whar we expect from Yamaha - uniformity in construction and qulity. This has a good design, excellent neck and is made to deliver the classic "mellow" C40 sound.I'm delighted and would ge it again !
5.0 out of 5 stars Classical guitar for beginners
Yamaha classical guitar C40II is good value for money and has good tone and volume. I think it's also suitable for flamenco.
3.0 out of 5 stars Ok for practice
It’s ok as a practice guitar, but if it didn’t say Yamaha inside it you wouldn’t think it was. For price it’s ok. Neck quite wide for me.

Yamaha no decepciona
Perfekt nybörjargitarr
Dotter har inget att klaga på så full pott.
