Description:

About this item:

  • OPTIMAL CONTROL: Optigard Ant Gel Bait from Syngenta is a high-performing bait product targeting all major ant species. It’s formulated with 0.01% Thiamethoxam, which offers unparalleled control of a broad spectrum of ants.
  • EASY APPLICATION: This stainless, odorless ant bait is known for its clear gel formulation that ants are attracted to and is easy for them to consume. Begin by inspecting and identifying ant infestations, whether they are indoors or outdoors. Apply the bait gel strategically in specific areas where ants are visibly trailing, including cracks, crevices, beneath appliances and in concealed spaces like attics and crawl spaces, to achieve comprehensive control.
  • TARGETS ALL MAJOR SPECIES: The sugar-based gel matrix of Optigard ant gel bait is highly attractive to ants, which makes it extremely effective on all major ant species.
  • EFFICIENT ANT CONTROL: Other baits can be too runny, which prevents ants from transporting the bait back to the colony. However, the consistency of Optigard Ant Gel Bait makes it easy for ants to carry to the colony and share with nestmates for full colony control.
  • COMPACT PACKAGING: Optigard Ant Gel Bait is packaged in ready-to-use, 30-gram syringes, making it easy to use. It should be applied where ants trail, forage or nest indoors and outdoors.
  • Optigard Ant Gel Bait is a targeted ant control solution that is effective against a broad range of species including Argentine, big-headed, carpenter, cornfield, crazy, field, ghost, harvester, honey, little black, odorous house, pavement, pharaoh, pyramid, red imported fire, rover, thief and white-footed ants. Featuring the active ingredient Thiamethoxam at 0.01%, this clear and odorless ant-killer gel is ideal for indoor pest control. Easily apply the bait gel on any type of surface for efficient ant management to help ensure an ant-free environment in your home. For indoor and outdoor applications, inspect areas to assess the extent of the infestation and identify ants' foraging and nesting sites. Apply the ant bait in strategic locations such as cracks, crevices, under appliances, behind furniture and in garbage areas, attics and crawl spaces. With its effective mode of action, durable formulation and excellent acceptance among ants, you can trust Optigard Ant Gel Bait to offer the control you need to help provide a long-lasting, ant-free environment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghost ants are gone!

    D. · 18 April 2024

After day 1 most of my ghost ants were gone, after day 2 all of them were gone.wow such a great product thank you.I think the key is to put it to the right places along the wall and put small amounts in every other meter or so. next day if any of the poison is gone, put much more to that area but make sure it's still next to walls.I used 3.5 tubes in two days ( although I live in a very big house) but haven't seen a single ghost ant since day 2 🙏

After trying everything else this actually works!

1.0 out of 5 stars Non effective ant gel

This is literally the worst product I’ve ever bought in trying to control any activity - gone through three of the four tubes and activity is still exactly the same - avoid.

    Conquer Ants!

    L. · 2 November 2024

Been using this for years since our Exterminator gave us a tube. Works well, but it takes hours or up to a day or two for ants to die in their nest. Does not always kill the entire nest, but will curb them back substantially. You should shake up each tube before using, so the gel is not so runny and become thicker. Conquer Ants!

    Anti-ant cure

Amazing stuff. 14 years I battled ants in my home. One squirt of this stuff in an ant trail and 12 hours later not a single ant in my home. I bought every variation of this stuff ready for battle. Now I have a big box of ant poison and no ants. Unbelievable how effective this stuff is. Why isn’t it at Home Depot or Lowes? Because all the good stuff is on Bolo.

    Dangerously Potent but it works!

    A.C. · 4 December 2024

I was about to spend $500ish for a one time treatment for ant exterminators. We’ve always had ants around the winter, but this year got bad. Decided to first give this a try. OMG it works!!! I used close to nothing! I put about 4 drops in 4 locations, no bigger than a pea size amount. We left for 4 days and came back to dead ants everywhere (actually pretty weird, we have an ant cemetary in our backyard, & everywhere!). I’m borderline afraid of whatever poison this thing is because of how good it worked and I used less than 1% of the product given. Anyway if you have a real ant problem, this thing freaking works, but I would beware where and how you use it. I am sweeping the ants outside and putting into trash so they wont contaminate my soil.

A Dead Ants’ Party: When Others Didn’t Work, Optigard Slapped

    A.T. · 27 December 2023

We are in southern California and recently had an army of tenacious tiny black ants in our kitchen. They were relentless. They ate through the caulking around the kitchen sink (!) and set up a very comfortable residential retreat behind, around, and underneath our sink. We cleaned, we removed all possible food sources, we scoured around the outside of the home to find a source or trail (no luck - I believe they may have come up one of the plumbing pipes, but as you'll soon learn, their origin story is lost to time), all to no avail. We were stumped. So we started with what we knew - in the past, we had used borax products (e.g. Terro) with great success. Typically the ants would swarm the Terro baits like Studio 54, partying day and night for a day or two and then be completely gone shortly after that. But oh no, not this time, and not these guys. Terro was a joke to them. Either they were immune to it or most of them were too smart for it.Don't get me wrong, dear reader - they occasionally availed themselves of the Terro. Not the same swarming behavior I'd seen in the past, but they did. Quite a few climbed inside the baits and so I optimistically assumed we were on the right track. But after a couple of days went by and I saw zero impact on the population, I decided to put dabs of the Terro along their paths, near their trails on the counter, etc. Some avoided it, but some of them seemed to eat it. But at this point I think they were just pretending in order to mess with me. But regardless of their motivations, it had no real effect. More days went by and the population was unscathed, perhaps even fortified. Were they laughing at me? I began to question everything I thought was true: are there ant vitamins in Terro? Please don't think I'm slamming Terro. I'm sure the product is great for certain kinds of ants and it has worked well for us in repelling previous invasions. But it was useless against whatever species we were facing this time.So I turned to a Reddit sub called AntControl where I learned about Optigard, which is mentioned alongside a few others (such as Advion) as a good prosumer tool for ant control. As residents of California, we have limited options (and I'm honestly glad about that) so that limits our selection somewhat. Also an important lesson is that if you can, figure out the species you're dealing with and whether they like protein or sugar, etc. but that's another conversation.Anyway I ordered a pack of Optigard and the moment it arrived I went to work. I cleaned up all my previous Terro stuff so we had a clean slate, and then put dabs of Optigard at strategic locations. I probably used one-half of one syringe in total.IT WAS LIKE STUDIO 54 AGAIN! The ants absolutely loved this stuff. Within mere minutes they were jamming their sick little faces into the gel like they were bobbing for apples or something. They could not get enough of it. They were muscling each other out of the way to get at the stuff. I swear they were having contests with each other to see who could get the most. I'm not entirely sure about this because it was fairly late, but that first night I think I even saw one of them holding a little beer-bong type funnel while another chugged it like some kind of party an(t)imal. However tempted this made me to resurrect my optimism, I met this behavior with a cautious regard. I'd gotten my hopes up before, after all.The next day the partying continued apace.Over the next 48-72 hours things started getting very quiet. I started noticing something I'd never seen with prior invasions .... corpses! Corpses everywhere. These freaks were just dropping dead in the sink and on the counter. But clearly enough of them hadn't died too soon to bring their party ambrosia back to the nest and queen(s) because after another few days of stragglers, I haven't seen a single ant in months. Not a single ant. And that tells you something about this product.I'm glad I still have 3.5 syringes left in case we get more visitors.Again, your experience may vary based on species, their preferred food types, and your location, but Optigard was amazing for us when our previous arsenal was useless.Five stars.

    Expensive but work

It expensive but still cheaper then calling a pro. Just make sure you find the ant trail. It work really well when put in the correct location.
