5.0 out of 5 stars Happy with results but using it without the plastic guide.
Found this quite easy to set up by downloading the latest software from the web site. Runs with windows 11 fine. Had a bit of a learning curve to get my first profile but after that found it easy to use. The only real problem that I found with it is I found in impossible to use the guide to complete a scan the Spectrocolorimeter would just not stay in the guide at any speed so just used the patch method with no problems which I found quicker as I did not have to keep going back to rescan. Colours overall seem very close to monitor after set up with Spyder5 Elite even when printing out,. scanning back to computer and checking visual results. I am very happy with it after the first few hours of use.Only gave it 4 star on ease of use due to the plastic guide otherwise it would have been all 5 star.
1.0 out of 5 stars Didn’t work for me
I eventually scammed two sheets and got a profile.. I printed a photo with the new profile and it didn’t look right so I done another scan and it still didn’t look right. I followed all the instructions and gave up. The biggest imitation was scamming the sheets it kept sticking moving the scammer along the template plastic board provided. And then it stopped working couldn't calibrate. Mybe there was a problem with the unit mybe there was a problem with me..
4.0 out of 5 stars Good product but not as useful to me as original expected
This is a useful product but it turns out that it's not quite as useful to me as I had originally expected. As a photographer I take lots of pictures. I then want to print them and put them on the wall. I was having problems with some A4 pictures not printing quite the same as they appear on my calibrated display. Due to the expense of this product I was not sure if it was worth the price tag. Eventually I decided to go for it anyway. The product is good. It corrected my colour casts straight away. The pictures that came out of my printer are brilliant. The problem is that because I use cheaper clone printer cartridges, the colours on the pictures start to change after a month or two. So the results are great but don't last. So I still have to send off the pictures to the lab if they are going to be on the wall for more than a couple of months. The great thing now that I have made the expenditure however, is that I can do home prints as proof prints to make sure everything in my picture is perfect before sending it off to the lab (bright enough etc.). This is particularly useful when doing the large, expensive prints that I sometimes do. Good to be able to get it right straight away.So overall I didn't quite get the benefit I was initially expecting, but now that I have it I am glad that I have it.
3.0 out of 5 stars Useful but flawed.
This profiler works ok some of the time. Other times it just stops working without any reason. It just disconnects from the USB port randomly and you have to close the software and restart the scan from scratch.Once a profile is created, close scrutiny reveals minimal differences when compared to printing with the Epson colour controls.Bottom line is, in my opinion it would be worth having if it were priced at around £100 or so, but at £300 it doesn't make enough difference to merit the cost.I'm back to printing with the printer controlling colour and not using ICC profiles as the difference they make is tiny.Your experience may be different, but for me, not worth the money, even when it works! Returned this item for a refund.
5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive, but it works brilliantly
This wasn't bought lightly. The cost of the kit is a big factor in whether or not you feel that your pictures warrant the extra detail that this device brings. In my case, I tried softproofinf with the ICC profile from the paper manufacturer first before eventually going down this route. A calibrated screen is a must - but this gave me the prints I needed first time. It's a little fiddly and time consuming to get the profile initially, but the results are great. What I see on screen, I can now print. Very happy.
5.0 out of 5 stars what an improvement to my pictures.
Although all these type products are a little expensive. The cost for a proffessional is imaterial. The fact is, once i had set this product up which isn't difficult. My photographs have seemed to improve ten fold. The prints now colourmatch my camera and computer screen. At long last, what you see is what you get.
1.0 out of 5 stars NOT IMPRESSED
This product was a total nightmare. The registration did not recognise the serial number supplied with the product although I managed to receive another by manually registering, not a big deal but it took a while to work it out. This was the least of my problems though. I spent two frustrating days trying to scan the colour swatches and managed to get one profile that was far worse than the paper manufacturers. Having another attempt and really becoming fed up at this point the scanner stopped working. I tried it in all my other USB sockets but no joy and can only assume it was faulty from the start. I returned it to Bolo for a refund and was glad to see the back of it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Another great product
Very easy to use
