5.0 out of 5 stars Great little tool
I've had mine 8 years now and it's still on my keys looking battered but still in great working condition. The dime is tiny and as long as you realise you won't be doing anything heavy with it you'll find it useful. The pliers have come in handy and especially good for splinters! The blade is very think but again realise the limitations of a keyring tool and it's up to small tasks. The package opening tool is great and the bottle opener is great and sturdy. The scissors are the worst part of this cool little tool but I have to give it 5 stars as it's survived 8 years so far and works as well as the day I got it.So small you'll forget about it on your keys and super handy.Great product and if I lost mine I wouldn't hesitate to buy a replacement.
5.0 out of 5 stars Small but perfectly formed
As an Electrician approaching retirement it's safe to say that over the last 47 years of working in the trade I can easily be described as being a toolaholic. I was always taught to have the right tool for the job and from day one of my apprenticeship I valued quality above all else. As they say, buy cheap, buy twice. I have purchased a good number of multi tools over the years, most of which have rarely if ever been used. And as retirement is looming my need to buy more tools is slowly diminishing but I couldn't resist buying this Grerber multi tool. It's small but looks to be excellent quality and can easily fit onto a keyring or in your pocket. You won't be pruning bushes with it or striping domestic sized cables but it is perfect for numerous little jobs and is extremely handy. I bought a small LED lenser torch at the same time, it's almost the same size as the Gerber and I keep both of them in my camera backpack. Highly recommend for small tasks and toolaholics.
3.0 out of 5 stars Handy little tool but the pliers don't work very well
I bought this to keep in my pocket for little jobs around the boat. It has been useful withdrawing split pins or fixing bent components. It is a handy size, but the tools are difficult to pull out and the pliers don't quite meet at the tip, meaning they are of limited use.It is "better than nothing" and has no signs of corrosion but I will be looking for a better quality tool.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for carrying around with you
The Gerber 1014030 Multitool is a compact, versatile tool designed for everyday use. Its black oxide finish adds durability and a sleek appearance. It features a range of tools, including pliers, wire cutters, a knife, screwdrivers, and more, making it suitable for a variety of tasks. The build quality is solid, with a comfortable grip and a smooth mechanism for deploying tools. However, the tools can be stiff to open initially, and the lack of a locking mechanism on some tools may be a concern for safety. Overall, it’s a reliable and functional tool for light-duty tasks.
5.0 out of 5 stars It's tiny!
It is tiny and I had a giggle getting it but it's a handy little tool and holds it's self well! It's only 4 stars because it says 25 year warranty outside North America and the pin that springs the scissors open snapped making the scissors difficult (not impossible) to use and Bolo won't exchange because they are 30 days and Gerber won't fix because it's from Bolo!
4.0 out of 5 stars Worth every Dime
An unexpectedly good quality multi-tool by Gerber, compared to it's leatherman counterpart (the PS4) it holds it's ground well, but speaking honestly, there isn't the same quality as leatherman. The joints are stiff (but thankfully adjustable) and it's tough to get open, all the tools are also as hard to open as the pliers. The plier spring system isn't as strong and it actually feels fragile, even though I know it won't break that easily.Few things I really like compared to the PS4 are the included package opener and more of a needle nose plier. However the lack of a full-size file that the opener obviously replaced is disappointing, and which one you find more useful will probably dictate your purchase of either the leatherman PS4 or gerber dime. The knife is good and has a nice design, and is a v-grind rather than a flat-grind, which is preferable for such a small knife, which leatherman doesn't do (and annoyingly so). Overall if you can't shell out for a PS4, then this is a perfect alternative, as it's decent and has a good price tag; but I'm unsure at how long it might last, but it still comes with gerber's 25-year guarantee, so that's something.I still think the Leatherman is vastly superior in every way imaginable, and this tool will age quickly as the paint already is scraping off as I open and close it, so if money isn't a problem and the package opener isn't important, I do recommend the Leatherman PS4 rather than the Gerber Dime.On it's own though, it's a good product, a good size and weight, and very cheap for the versatility it provides.

Super useful and compact LIGHT DUTY multi-tool
I’ve noticed a consistent theme with the negative reviews: unrealistic expectations. This tiny multi tool isn’t meant to fix your car or your garbage disposal, it’s meant for super basic light duty tasks like opening boxes, opening beers, or tightening a random loose screw. It’s small, lightweight, and has a keychain ring. The bottle opener is a permanent exterior feature and considering the whole thing isn’t much bigger than most keychain bottle openers, I’d buy several of the price point was lower. Spring loaded pliers with a wire cutter, spring loaded (mini) scissors, and even a thin pair of tweezers. This multi-tool actually sees more use than any of my other more heavy duty options because it fits easily into the small pocket above the main right pocket that all my jeans have. I use it more because I can carry it all the time and not notice it’s there. I’ve never attempted a heavy duty task better suited for a real wrench or pair of pliers, but for all the basic light duty stuff I think this was intended for, I’ve found it super convenient and versatile. Minor gripes: 1. The tweezers are so thin they are almost useless, but for pulling a splinter or something when you really need tweezers and probably aren’t carrying them, they are adequate. 2. The box opener tool seems pretty useless. I’d rather see another tool in its place since the knife blade works better for this task. 3. Like the original Gerber Suspension, I’d prefer two of the tools to have a little nub to open one handed instead of needing to use two hands including a fingernail.
