5.0 out of 5 stars Fell pregnant at first try
These were cheap and worked perfectly for me. Easy to use and read/understand the results. I also used an app which helped to pinpoint ovulation, which can be later/earlier than relying on "average days". I'm delighted to find myself pregnant!
5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!!
Update: I took a pregnancy test at 12 dpo and it was positive!!!! I also tested with the few batch of one step ovulation test I had remaining to check for pregnancy (yes this is possible) and they came out positive! Definitely recommend.Just to note: One step is the test at the topthe test in the middle is boots. At first I was a little bit sceptical because of the bad reviews, I still went ahead and purchase anyways. It was 50/50 chance for me, as I already had boots own brand (I know, whats the point right) It was my first time using opk sticks. I used clearblue digital last month and nothing. So I decided to try the sticks. Why not they were cheap anyways. So I decided to use both this brand (One Step) and boots brand. They both came out positive but be careful tho. I tested with second morning urine with both Step one and boots and they were negative. I tested same day in the afternoon and still negative, the line was there but not as strong as the control line. I decided I was going to bed but I had this feeling that I needed to test before bed and there you have it!!! Almost 11:30pm strong positives on all three test. I'm so happy ☺ it really worked
5.0 out of 5 stars I tried and tested and I am so happy with the results
I tried and tested and I am so happy with the results. Do not believe you ovulate on day 14 ladies, it is just a myth. Everyone is different and typically, the longer your cycle (e.g. 30-35 days) is the later you ovulate and the shorter your cycle (e.g. 21-26 days) is the earlier you ovulate! My cycle is normally 26 days (although sometimes, due to stress, illness, travel etc.) it may be 25, or 27 days. Prior to using these ovulation strips I believed I always ovulated on day 12 (they say to take 14 days off your normal cycle).I was mistaken. In fact, after using these ovulation strips I found out I ovulate on day 10 ! :-) Knowing the day you ovulate makes a great difference to when you plan baby-dancing! Typically, it is recommended to baby-dance 2-3 days prior to ovulation (so there is sperm present & waiting for the egg), on day of ovulation (+2 days after the ovulation). The test showed me a peak in the LH (luteinizing hormone) on the cycle day 9. That means you are going to ovulate soon - eg. within the next 12 - 36 hours. Also, i recommend the following amazing website that explains it all ladies: http://beautifulcervix.com/your-cycle/#throughout
3.0 out of 5 stars Good
I bought for my wife after use she says its not giving accurate results.
1.0 out of 5 stars Inconvenient to use and do not work if instructions are not followed to the letter.
The instructions state they you should not test first thing in the morning because the hormone surge does not take place until later in the day. You are meant to limit fluid intake for 2 hours before testing. It was not convenient to take these to work and I found it difficult not to drink at all after returning home, so it was difficult to follow these instructions to the letter. I tried my best but found that the strips were not sensitive enough to show a positive test for ovulation- possibly because I had not managed to avoid drinking completely. They may work better if you are very strict about not taking any fluids. I found the baby start ovulation microscope which allows you to analyse saliva first thing in the morning to detect a fractal crystal 'ferning' pattern when the saliva has dried onto a glass window much more convenient and it did actually show positive results for ovulation.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great opk test strips
I bought these as my cycle has gone from a 28 day one to now a 36 day cycle and wanted to track when I would ovulate and kept.testing every day from day 1 in my cycle and it picked up a dark lh surge within my period and then when faint and the week after finishing my period it started to pick up faint lines and gradually kept getting darker but never dark as the control line or even darker than that line but then noticed when my mucus changed to stretchy egg white the test once again was dark so guessed I ovulated and I kept testing twice a day and the only prob is the info within the pack states if on a 36 day cycle I would ovulate on the 22nd Aug and to start testing around the 19th and like I say twice a day I still keep resting and the lines are faint not as dark as they have been within my period and the week after finishing so whilst there good the info can be misleading as to when to start testing or when ovulation should occur
5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, got pregnant on first cycles use. Would use again!
Used these from the start of my cycle whilst trying to conceive and also charted basal temp after a period of trying unsuccessfully due to irregular periods. I stuck each one down on a sheet and kept a record of the day and quite easily saw the textbook increase in line colour at the same time my temperature was doing what it was meant to. Got pregnant that very first cycle and now have a 9 month old! I carried on using these after ovulation and had planned to use it to my next period when I noticed a second peak, turns out they detect pregnancy too due to the hormones being very similar! Seeing the second peak combined with googling whether you can ovulate twice in one month led me to take pregnancy test! Definitely recommended and would use again! Took the stress out of guessing with irregular cycles especially after trying for a long time!
5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant and spot on(used in conjunction with clearblue digital)
My very 1st month using this and I would highly recommend it. I spent a while on the internet reading reviews on ovulation tests and although I don't normally write reviews I thought I would on this occasion to help anyone else looking into it too.In order to ascertain if the tests worked I took it alongside the clearblue digital dual hormone ovulation kit. I have a 28 days cycle.I started testing on day 8, each day the test line would either be very faint or not there at all (empty circle on clearblue). On day 12 I got a flashing smile on clearblue and no change with this one.On day 14 I got a solid smile on clearblue and a very clear positive on this one too.I will never need to spend my money on clearblue anymore, one step is the way forward and I will save myself a fortune
