5.0 out of 5 stars It Actually Works :-) :-) :-)
In October 2015 a friend of mine gave me a little of this spray that she had left as I’d one very nervous Shetland Sheepdog who was just less than 1 year old, (he was frightened of anything strange that moved, he was even frightened of his own shadow when the sun was out). Our youngest had already started taking skullcap and valerian in tablet form in early September but that wasn’t enough on its own, as he was still a little jumpy at certain things in strange places. So we started using this spray on his fur when he was going somewhere different and before he went to obedience class. It’s worked extremely well and has helped him immensely. It really relaxes him and he’s able to cope with everyday life as he’s not keen on loud and unfamiliar noises, it’s giving him the confidence to explore his world a little more outside the safety of his home without being terrified of things he’s not seen or heard before. The spray does have a pungent smell when first sprayed but it soon disappears. This isn’t just for dogs but can be used on cats, rodents, horses and birds. The main ingredients of the spray are a special proven blend of Valerian essential oil, blended with Vetivert, Basil Sweet and Sage. It’s safe to spray directly on your pet, but not recommended where they can lick it off. You can also to spray on bedding, carpet, soft furnishings and in your car, (onto a dog cover).I can highly recommend it as it’s certainly helped our little Sheltie and he’s certainly more relaxed in his everyday life. :-)
5.0 out of 5 stars Calmes kitten, cats and a dog
This product absolutely works. Spray on bed area or where pets tend to sleep and though it gives off a funny smell. This worked on my dog and 2x cats and a 6 month old kitten perfectly. I always keep the Spray on hand just incase. The fire works terrify them all but after around an hour after spraying all pets calm enough to go to sleep. Absolutely fabulous product and well priced to. Dont use to much a small amount of spray here and there works.
4.0 out of 5 stars Relaxes the cats
I have 3 cats and use a feliway plug in. This works great and stops any fighting. However we have moved house and now have a catio. This means the plug in doesn’t work so well as the pheromones escape outside. Small scuffles were happening and I needed a way to settle the cats quickly.Bought pet remedy as I’ve heard good things. I spray it in their brush and brush them. Works as well as the plug in and is instant. The cats relax and are calm.Only complaint. Wish it would be more of a mist as I could spray on furniture and things without it creating a wet spot.Good value for money, versatile as can use on cats and furniture. I spray in a cloth then wipe sofas and cat trees with it. Appears to last a long time after spraying as I don’t need to repeat more than once every couple of days. Spray is quiet which I like as off it makes noise like a click it scares the cats and they run away.
3.0 out of 5 stars Well it definitely doesn't do nothing
I have two cats. One went nuts when her sister died and started peeing around the house when we bought her a new kitten for company. They get on really well now but the peeing didn't stop. She is neurotic and screams all the time to go out, then comes in again and screams again. The kitten is really chill. So I got this spray because the Feliway spray works well, but the Feliway plug in does nothing, and the Feliway spray is SO expensive. So if this works for you it is great value for money.I thought it smelled nice but my teenage daughter started yelling 'that is disgusting!!! Have you got covid???'. So you can smell it, it's a very noticeable smell but to me it's a little fruity and herby and pleasant. But your mileage may vary. Now here's how the cats acted. The kitten came in and instantly her tail fluffed up and then she fluffed up into a ball and she went everywhere the spray has gone smelling it and walking super super low to the ground and generally seeming terrified. The neurotic cat just started howling and looking for places to pee. So many cats seemed to be famed by valerian and it's included in so many "calming" sprays and supplements and so I can't give it too low a mark, because the people with those cats are not lying. But for me it's an absolute wash out.
5.0 out of 5 stars Anxious dog?
This product certainly helps to calm my dog during anxious episodes and is easy to administer - smells good too

This works well paired with the plug in diffuser from the same company. My cats were calm all night.
1.0 out of 5 stars Stinky, smelly, pongy, fetid cheesey, tramps sock, rancid whiff. Did I mention it smells?
Oh dear! I so wanted this to work, but I don't think it does :( . I did read the reviews and saw it was a bit of a mixed bag, people either loved it or hated it. Maybe some pets are calmed from it, which is great, but didn't do much for my cat - or me!.My cat is a blind rescue cat and can get a bit skittish (understandibly) and I bought this to try and keep her more relaxed (I bought the plug-in as well at the same time, I'll review the plug in separately).Initially when I tried the spray pump, it was broken - no biggie, I decanted it into another spray bottle and immediately got 'the whiff'. It smelled of horrendous mouldy cheesey feet and for one terrifying moment, I thought my ex hisband had sneaked into my house. Yegads it made me reel!I thought 'No, give it a chance, my kitty deserves some calmness, I'll put up with it.' So I sprayed a little on the bottom stair carpet where kitty likes to pull all the threads out in temper. She had a sniff and sat on the bottom stair! Yay!Well that was pretty much it as far as calming went.It smells so bad, I didn't want to spray it on any furnishings, throws or even her pet blankie. So I have tried to spray it on a paper towel and place it near kitty when she is getting skittish. Once she smells the fetid smelling paper towel, she stops, sniffs and walks off, then goes skittish somewhere else. All it does for my kitty is stun her for a moment, asit does me.I really did want this to work.Has anyone else any suggestions for a calming effect on cats?

Efectivo
Overall calming effect, worth continuing.
I’m typically skeptical about these kinds of untested remedies for behavior, but thought I’d give this a try. I have four adult cats, three of which are siblings, and am fostering three rambunctious kittens, also all siblings. Two of the adults really hadn’t adjusted well to the presence of the kittens, let alone to their activity levels. Lots of hissing and swatting, anxiety displays, and hiding under the bed. Since using this spray, very judiciously, there’s been a noticible effect on the two adult cats anxiety displays. Less hissing, less swatting, overall reduced aggression toward the kittens and each other. I spray their sleeping/lounging areas in the living room in the morning and again in the evening when I return from work. My work from home partner has reported considerably improved levels of calm and sociability, especially in the two most stressed adults. The one, who has always been the one picked on by everyone else, has also demonstrated increased general sociability, she’s hiding less, coming out looking for cuddles more, and overall more peaceably interacting with the kittens. There’s a kind of feedback loop I’ve noticed. The less she hisses and runs, the less the kittens and others give chase, the less she feels like she has to run and hide, the more she’s out with everyone else. Some people have remarked that it stinks...nope, it has a really nice earthy herbal smell, almost like yarrow blossoms, though this is not in the ingredient list. Using the spray, you can control when and where the aroma arises, but it’s the herbal aroma that induces the calming....also, I find it a rather soothing aroma for myself, after a long day at work, I’m finding I feel better after spraying the living room, too. My friend wants to try it on her rambunctious toddler! Mammals, right?
