5.0 out of 5 stars Great flood defense
This is my second purchase to soak up the rain water getting under my garage door to prevent it flooding the garage. It works perfectly but unfortunately due to the heavy rain we've had, I needed to buy a second as the first is gull to capacity. They absorb a massive amount of water and can be used over and over again. Just leave it in place and, when it dries out, it will go flat again.
5.0 out of 5 stars Problem solved.
I had an area on the front door path that always left a big puddle which was such a nuisance. This has solved the problem. I just put it down where the rain pools and when it rained it puffed up leaving no puddle.I leave it in place it shrinks down until the next rain.
4.0 out of 5 stars Quick Dam
I bought two of these Quick Dams for my back door. I have experience two floods in the last 5 years and wanted something to stop the water getting under the door. I have put one on top of the other outside the door being held down by a brick each side. They have done as they are supposed of done, and swell with the rain fall but I cannot at this time say whether they will stop the water from coming under the door without flood conditions, which I hope I don't experience again.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product
This flood barrier not only inflates quickly when in contact with water but also stopped my garage getting flooded out. I have now bought a total of 3 so I am ready for any deluge that may occur.
5.0 out of 5 stars Floods no-more
Used this outside a garage door, does a decent job of keeping water and stuff out and is holding up well a year later.
3.0 out of 5 stars Good for one use but disintegrated so could not re-use
This product worked very well for the first use. However it says to dry it out and it can be used again. Unfortunately this is not the case as on drying out it has disintegrated
5.0 out of 5 stars Flood water
We have water come down our garden from a large field at the top.I have these barriers at the back door French door and by the fence at the top.
1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Quality
It has leaked out a white jelly like thing.Poor quality and headache to return.
Works perfectly for my purpose
My mother moved into a ground floor apartment, and when it rains heavily water gets in her apartment. It doesn’t flood, it’s just enough to soak her entry rug and get a foot or two into her living area. I bought one of these around May of 2024, and it has worked to keep water completely out of her apartment almost every time she’s used it (for one really heavy rainstorm, she got about 1 cup of water in the entry). Last night we had heavy rain that lasted several hours, and not one drop got in the apartment. The biggest deltas are that once it’s soaked and it expands, she can’t move it around (being 82 and 5’ 2”/>100lbs), and that you need a place to store it (preferably in the sun) when you’re not using it.Note: I’ve seen several reviews with people complaining about the “deflation” time of these dams. They don’t “inflate” or “deflate”. The crystals inside soak up liquid and expand. It literally takes months for the crystals to dry, and they’re not going to get back to their original condition; however, mom’s has worked great regardless.
Worked great!
Diverted the water that was coming into my garage so it would be directed on its way out! Will buy more!
Great for patio sliding door
Two of these stacked on top of a plastic film have kept the patio door safe. Now that I know (Company answered the question) they have a shelf life of 10 years or more, I am comfortable keeping several of different sizes in a tote for storm season to come around. Experimenting now for the first time on reuse -- 3 weeks and they are still drying out. Not optimistic but don't really care -- will happily trash them and use new ones next round as before if necessary. At my age I cannot handle sandbags and this product is fantastic. Even one layer of those across my doors would be impossible for me.Use: First use a few years ago I tried soaking them in bath tub for move to in-place. FAILURE on MY part. Horrible to move because of weight. Ever since I've always put in place on plastic sheet, hosed down to partially expand (enough that wind wouldn't take away), and let the rising water expand them the rest of the way.Outstanding product. Cost is reasonable, storage for future emergency use takes little space and shelf life is long, lightweight for movement, easy to expand, and most importantly, they stop water intrusion.
Used for tropical storms and hurricanes (Central Florida)
Street floods and comes up the driveway. Two of these stacked on top of a plastic film has kept the garage totally dry. Not optimistic but don't really care -- will happily trash them and use new ones next round as before if necessary. At my age I cannot handle sandbags and this product is fantastic. Even one layer of those across my 16' garage door would be impossible for me.Use: First use a few years ago I tried soaking them in bath tub for move to in-place. FAILURE on MY part. Horrible to move because of weight. I imagine like moving a 17' boa constrictor. Ever since I've always put in place, hosed down to partially expand (enough that wind wouldn't take away), and let the rising water expand them the rest of the way.Outstanding product.
