5.0 out of 5 stars Before you read other reviews! Negative reviews are wrong.
Some of the negative reviews for this product state that it arrived spoiled or is inedible because of white spots on the product. These people are wrong. What they've shown in their images is actually the crystalisation of sugars in the block, much in the same way that you may see white structures in crystalised honey. So ignore the fear mongering.Flavour wise, this is like a cross between molasses and honey. It's quite strong, particularly when turned into a syrup. It's great for adding flavour to spicy dishes, or in my case - tepache (a fermented Mexican drink)! It comes as a solid block, does not dissolve easily in water. The easiest way of using it is by dissolving it in hot water then adding. However, if you don't want to use water you could grate it finely into a sauce.

If you miss sugar cane then this is great. tastes nearly like the fresh juice. Well close enough to make me satisfied!
3.0 out of 5 stars Large amount for the money
I have had Organic Jaggery before from a different seller which had a lovely mild malt taste. This one has a far stronger taste and certainly not so appealing. I won’t be ordering it again.
5.0 out of 5 stars Not as hard to cut up as one might first think!
I've never used Jaggery before but remember it was featured on a Rick Stein cooking programme in India.I purchased this to make Tapeche. Fermented pineapple beer made from Jaggery, pineapple rind, ginger and cinnamon.Never made it before but YouTube made it look easy. Put all the ingredients in yesterday and it's started to ferment already. The recipe states brown sugar doesn't really cut it so I'm very happy to use the natural raw cane that is, Jaggery.Easily cut with a big kitchen knife. Texture is similar to a hard fudge. Great but of kit that I'll be using in a second batch hopefully. Enjoy.

Verygood
Good
Pure, original jaggery
This jaggery is original. I have surprise because i had also buy jaggery from asia shop but this jaggeery tast so fine yummy . Hi people when you want original, pure jaggery then you can buy this jaggery with close eyes. Colour is so nice.
Mah…
