Directions
Remove the thermometer from the storage box.Press the on/off switch. During the internal self-test, the display displays all the elements. Then the last measured temperature is displayed for 5 seconds. The protective cap indicator flashes to indicate that a new cap needs to be attached. In order to allow accurate measurements, it is important to install a new, clean protective cap before each measurement.

We wanted a good reliable thermometer for our newborn and this ticks all the boxes. Great quality and easy to use. It has different ages windows (0-3m etc) as an option before taking the temperature which is great too so you don't need to look up what the temperature windows are for the different months. etc. It can be used for adults too and comes with replacement covers for it.

We brought this because our old Braun thermometer died after 22 years. As the previous one lasted so long we decided to go with the same brand.A really nice touch of this device is the colour coded back light. Showing Red for High temperatures and Green for normal temperatures. This is handy when you have been woken up to take a temperature and the brain hasn't fully kicked in.This is also smaller than our old model and also features a base for storage.Another new feature is the use of AA batteries, the old model used the coin type batteries which are often the ones I don't have and are potentially dangerous with little ones.I would absolutely recommend this device, I only hope it lasts 22 years like the device it replaced.

Great little device, a must have if you have children, its a million times easier than getting them to sit still with a traditional thermometer. It reads really quickly which is good if the kids are squirming around (especially when they are ill!) and the display is extremely clear and bright. The traffic light colour coding on the back light of the screen is a great re-assuring touch that you are in a good/bad place with the temp.Its not the cheapest in the world, but fully worth the money, a great quality product.

There was a period early on in COVID-19 lockdown that it was near enough impossible to buy one of these for a reasonable price. Even Bolo were charging £50+ for them, some unscrupulous third-party sellers were listing them over £100, and people were buying them because they were desperate. You should be looking to buy them at around £40.It just so happened we needed one during this period, because our baby was sick and we were told we should try monitoring his temperatures. This had nothing to do with COVID, else we'd have just waited.Thankfully I managed to get one at £38 directly from Bolo, and it does seem to be very good, generally. The accuracy is hard to gauge really. Perhaps it fluctuates slightly due to ear position etc, but I have noticed its readings do vary occasionally.It has 3 temperature modes for: newborns, 3-36months and 36months+ - This is because temperatures can be more serious at these earlier points so the 'allowable' temperature tolerances are lower. It is helpful though that these are suitable from birth.I chose this style over other thermometers because this is the type all the medical staff seemed to use in the maternity wards. The tip is pre-warmed to try and make it less of a shock when taking your child's temps, however I still find our son hates having it done, and wriggles everywhere!It also has a memory feature, which tells you the last 9 stored temperatures. It's easy to use, though I would like the thermometer to remember/store the last age range entered. It's a faff having to add same age every time I want to use it.The case is nice and protects the vulnerable probe side of the device. It also comes with a small box of tips. These are single-use (not ideal) disposable tips that keep the unit hygienic. You get around 20 of these with the unit. You can buy refills via Bolo (I bought the official Braun ones, but there are cheaper imitations if looking to save money). The case allows you to store a box or two of these tips within itself.The reading only takes around 2 seconds once in the ear and button pressed, which is impressive, especially when trying to take temps of an irate baby! If temperatures are in the normal range for the selected age group, the temperature will be returned with a green backlight. If it is elevated for the age range it'll be amber, and it'd be advisable to monitor closely any changes. If it is too high, it'll show a red backlight. I believe if this happens you should speak to a GP about it (especially if children).This is worth the price in my opinion. There are cheaper alternatives, but I feel that if the Doctor's, Midwives and Nurses are using them all over the NHS then they must be the better option.

I love this product, I have one for 5 years now and just bought another one as a gift for a family member that was impressed of how easy and accurate it is. Great design abd quality. So convenient to use on kids from newborns age.
