  • The DRI-ECO-HEAT-HCS is part of the Drimaster-eco range of Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) units and has a unique 400W heater element positioned behind the diffuser for optimum performance. The unit is suitable for all properties with a loft space and has a one power supply for ease of installation. With an integral heater sited behind the diffuser this element allows for the airflow to be tempered when entering the property. The DRI-ECO-HEAT-HCS provides whole home ventilation using the Positive Input Ventilation principle. Essentially the concept is to introduce fresh, filtered air into the dwelling at a continuous rate, encouraging movement of air from inside to outside. To achieve this, the unit is mounted in the loft space, drawing air through the filters and inputting it, at ceiling level, into the property. An integrated heater tempers airflow should the temperature in the loft space drop below a set point, ensuring ultimate comfort in the home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product for modern double glazed houses - provides filtered air and reduces condensation

Installed it myself in a couple of hours and running it off a 3 amp plug controlled by a wireless plug socket. It is showing 8/9 watts when running on speed 4. The heater hasn’t kicked in yet so cooler air will be expelled, upstairs should be cooler for sleeping and will keep the warmer air downstairs so family may find it cooler than usual upstairs.Heater will be expensive to run through a cold winter unless you can run it off cheap rate as will be around 10kW if on 24/7 so that’s around £3/day at the current price cap but it does provide some heat and not likely to be on all the time. The heater can be set between 5c-15c so has to be pretty cold outside to be 5c in the loft. I will monitor over winter to see actual running costs with heater set at 10c.Well insulated 4 bed detached and currently 12c outside and 19.2c on landing below the fan and 20c in the living room so seems to keep the warmer air downstairs, heating hasn’t been on but made a roast dinner so oven on for a whileMin temp was 17.9c this morning on the landing (12.5c outside and 18.8c downstairs) and recommended temp for good sleep is around 18c so ideal and usually have bedroom doors shut at night so will prevent and cold draughts.Seems a good investment and did have some slight mould spots in bathroom ceiling and around bedroom windows so will monitor and leave on 24/7, only been installed 2 days and might try fan speed 3 to reduce amount of cool air if it gets colder outside.Overall a simple solution and think it works well with modern houses that can suffer with not much air flow and the filter should help with hay fever next year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Game changer for damp management

This device has completely cured damp and mould in my 4 bed house. I was hesitant about the claims made of it, but its amazing and transformative. I was also worried about potential noise, but its reasoably quiet. Incoming air can feel a bit chilly, you can reduce flow and up the heating element to mitigate somewhat, and for me the trade off is removal of damp and mould so well worth having. Its expensive for what is basically a fan with a motor attached, but the design and quality of build, installation instructions and appearance are very good indeed.

5.0 out of 5 stars The change this has made is unbelievable.

We live in a three bedroom semi - we suffered with condensation on all our upstairs windows which led to black mould on the windows and also on the walls around them. We've cleaned, installed trickle vents and painted with mould paint, nothing worked. This unit has changed everything. As an average DIY'er, this was a piece of cake to install and took less than an hour. We had the unit that included a heater. The unit is quiet, even on the highest setting. The heater doesnt really warm the air up much but even through a recent cold spell, it didnt make it too unpleasant upstairs. We've now experimented with the settings and number 4 of 6 works perfectly. The day after install there was a noticable improvement, no condensation on windows, the bathroom cleared of condensation quickly after showers and the air felt much fresher upstairs. A month in and the mould has gone and not returned. There is a definite temperature drop upstairs but not significant - the fresh air is however a welcomed improvement. If you have mould or condensation issues, this really works and has completely resolved our issues.

Product used to eliminate condensation and damp in the house. This is the second one we've had and we wouldn't be without it. Brilliant!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful item - Easy enough to fit from a fairly incompetent NON DIYer.

Good price! Working well a year on.Easy enough to fit but take your time. Use a plasterboard saw for the cut. If you don't have one, buy one as you'll want the cut to be accurate as possible - not too big or you're stuffed ( cardboard template included)The job is 'basically' a hole in the ceiling with a big pipe attached and a fan hanging off the beams. It's doable by anyone, but you need to be motivated to do it and take your time.Have a friend help you locate a good spot on the landing (check for electrics first in loft) then identify a safe drill location by tapping the ceiling (check and double check) and then put a single hole in ceiling. If you're missing beams and have clear cut area, there's your centre hole.I installed this to prevent mould / mustyness. Also we had soaking windows in the morning. It's not a miracle cure to this, I would say it's reduced it to 70-75% but this is a massive improvement if you've got a house that suffers from condensation. We also run a couple of eco air dehumidifiers which do still remove some water from the air. 3 bed- 2 kids. This in itself makes your house smell less stagnant on those damp mornings/ evenings. Nothing nasty but 'you know your own house' and sometimes it can feel a bit 'humid and close' and you end up opening windows to let some fresh air in...This item will give you the sensation that there's always fresh air incoming and less urge to need to vent the house. It's like having a window open all the time allowing fresh air, but without losing heat out your windows. It will help you hear your home too, in winter as the less humid the air is the warmer the home.It CAN be cold in winter on our landing and the heater element just takes the edge off the air, it still feels cold though. But quite frankly, I will tolerate this any day compared to absolutely soaking windows - moulding blinds - fusty smells - walls moulding behind furniture. It's 100% worth doing and if you have any issues I've mentioned, buy one.
