About this item:
With this voltage converter, you can operate American, Japanese and other 110 volt electric devices on European 220 volt power supply. Conversely you can use this transformer in America, Canada, Japan and all other countries that use 110-120 volt AC power supply to operate European electronic devices via a 220 volt socket. For optimum use of this transformer, we recommend operating electrical appliances with a maximum output (watts) of 70% of the voltage transformer output.
Note that you can use distribution sockets to connect several (American as well as European) electrical appliances to one voltage converter. Always ensure that the total power of all connected devices never exceeds the power of the voltage transformer, even in the event of potential voltage peaks. For the event of an overload, the device is protected by a miniature fuse (two spare miniature fuses are included in the delivery).
Attention: Due to different current frequencies in countries with 110 volts (60Hz) and countries with 220 volts (50Hz), not all appliances are compatible with a voltage converter. Before purchasing a voltage converter, please contact the manufacturer of the appliance you wish to connect and ask whether it can be operated with a voltage converter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and effective
Bought this to step down UK voltage to US for a gadget only available at 110V. So far it works a treat and everything works as it should.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect
We needed this for alot of items as we have moved from the US to the UK. Its compact size, quiet operation, and safety features make it a practical choice for those who frequently travel abroad.
4.0 out of 5 stars Smelly at first but works perfectly
This is a review of the 200W Transformer.First of all please be aware that this is a relatively low power transformer and although rated at 200W the instructions say that for 'extended' use, the load should be kept below 60% (120W). To put that into context, this transformer will be fine for charging a toothbrush, camera, phone, Tablet and maybe even power a Nintendo Wii or laptop. It will not allow you run kettles, irons, hairdryers, coffee makers, hair straighteners, Laser printers or anything else that involves heat or motors. This transformer is slightly different to some other devices around in that it can be used as either a step-down or step up transformer. In other words you can use it in the UK to power something that you bought in (say) America or you could use in America to power something that is designed to only work on the UK Voltage. How it operates is determined by a 'jumper' at the back of the unit which is used to select the input voltage. By default, it is set for 240V which is the typical voltage in the UK. In this mode, it will output about 110V from the US style socket on the front of the unit.If you wanted to use it in America to power a UK device then you would need to set the jumper on the back to 110V and then use a normal USA to UK adaptor to connect the transformer to the US mains and then plug your UK device into the UK mains socket on the front. When I unpacked it, the first thing I noticed was strong smell of fumes, similar to that sometimes noticed in dry cleaners. This passed after a few days in the open but it was initially quite pungent and I imagine could give some people a headache in a confined space. This was why I only gave 4 stars. The weight is 1.9Kg so it is going to take a chunk out of your baggage allowance if you are thinking of taking it on holiday. I would say that really this transformer is intended to power something in the UK that is designed for the US voltage (like a Christmas decoration). In my case the transformer worked perfectly out of the box. Running it from the UK mains for 12 hours, the output voltage was 111V. There is a very quiet hum which I could only hear by putting my ear within a few inches of the transformer however, I expect it would get noisier when fully loaded.Overall, if you want to power something that is designed for America or Japan while you are in the UK AND the power requirement is less than 120W then this transformer will do the job.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very impressed with this
Bought this for a 110v device that was made in the 1990s in Japan. It worked a treat, and helpfully came with several spare fuses, which was useful because I did blow two of them on first use because I wasn't entirely clear on quite how to use it. Sadly I have no more fuses for it now but hopefully I can buy some from somewhere. The user manual is a little vague if you're not entirely sure what you are doing, but I got there on the 3rd try and once I did, it worked a treat. The device itself is really solid and fairly compact. Very happy with it.

Bronson++ VT 500 (500 Watt) 220V to 110V Voltage ConverterHeavy item sent in an Bolo paper bag. Significant damage to steel case of transformer. There are quality issues involving the manufacturing of this appliance, which is made in China. They look second hand!
5.0 out of 5 stars After 5 years, still working great.
So solid, works great no problems
5.0 out of 5 stars Working great so far
Seems to work well enough. The metal construction makes me feel a bit more confident that it won't melt or suddenly explode, and it's fairly compact. It does make a low humming sound, but this is only audible from very close by.I'm nowhere near max load, so I can't comment on how it handles that, but my unit never gets more than warm to the touch (actually I measured it, it was 35°C).Although not shown in the image, the power lead is a fair length, around 60cm long.I will be using it extensively, and if this review remains as is, you can assume that it hasn't blown up or otherwise failed yet.
5.0 out of 5 stars It works so well !
I purchased this to power my U.S. Cuisinart panini/waffle grill 1500watt and also Dualit toaster 1250 watts. And I have to thank other reviewers and the manufacturer for all the useful information here . I had it realised how many watts I needed for running these small appliances. Very happy with this Bronson it works perfectly and whilst not inexpensive, still better than replacing all my stuff, as I have before. Just wish that I had realised. But I can definitely recommend this Bronson at 3000watts it should cover all your kitchen toys !
