I bought straight replacement for an alarm bought in 2011 which was due to expire in November 2011. As it happened it expired a few days early, but pretty fair considering we're in late October.I bought a 2-pack and have one in our lounge near the gas fire (occasional use only) and one near the gas boiler in the garage. Bolo's price of around £27 for the two is about half the going rate.I'm well chuffed.Alasdair

When our last ones broke, and they do after a few years you must replace them. These are robust and definitely do the job but when the unit just goes off for no reason, obviously after you have checked for any carbon monoxide escape you need to replace them. Never put your family or yourself at risk so I will always recommend these units!
