5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use
I was rather sceptical wether to buy this or not for my 97% polyester dress after reading the reviews. On the advice from other reviews I purchased 2 bottles and used them both and watched the YouTube video on instructions. I was really pleased with the outcome and colour.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works in the washing machine
This is a fantastic dye. After reading a few comments I was unsure if it would work in the washing machine but it definitely did. Couldn’t be bothered with the rigmarole of boing a pot, and didn’t have one big enough. Luckily, it did a great job in the machine. It has coloured the plastic inside my machine a bit but that doesn’t bother me. Just be aware
4.0 out of 5 stars Does Dye Nylon
I tried Dylon Washing Machine Dye a couple times on various temperatures with no luck dying a nike nylon running top. I wanted to change it from dark blue to black. I had almost giving up before trying this - I left it in a pot of simmering (70-80'c) water for about an hour with this stuff in and the nylon didn't melt or anything and when I washed it out in the machine and dried it (don't tumble dry nylon, air dry) it actually worked. It wasn't a deep black, but more a slate black because of nylon shimmer. But, it worked and therefore will work on pretty much any lesser fabric - wool, cotton, maybe even synthetics like running tights, waterproof jacket etc. Though beware boiling synthetic clothes might reduce any waterproofing they have in them. Good luck.
3.0 out of 5 stars Quality of dyed items
Only dyed 3 lightweight items. 2 were fine but 3rd only light grey. They were all same product and dyed together so not sure why this happened.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality product
Highly recommended
1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work on my synthetic fabric AT ALL
Not fit for purpose. Followed the instructions to a T. Highly disappointed.
5.0 out of 5 stars Turned my stained white jacket pink. So so good
This stuff is amazing. Saved my stained white jacket and turned it pink. If you can’t find a pit big enough add it to your bath and just keep topping it up with kettle water. Worked perfectly for me. Beware tho it’ll stain your bath and you’ll need to bleach the bar afterwards to get rid of the bath stains. 10/10 tho!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great but for polyester you need to keep the water boiling
If you want to dye polyester you should know that it won't work unless you keep the water boiling for the whole duration of the dying process. I've preciously been able to dye other synthetic fibres in water that stays very hot but not boiling, but for polyester you need it extra-hot.
It worked fine
It worked fine for dying my cotton and polyester wool blend sweatshirt. If you follow the directions it seems to work very well. I think I could have died a couple of more things in the same water and had good results.I have not washed this item since I dyed it, but I noticed that the charcoal gray color is fading after a few months. At this rate I think it will take two or three years for it to wear out enough that I would want to re-dye it.
Worked super well!
I had a white dress that was blend of polyester and cotton that I wanted to dye. I wasn’t sure if I should get this dye or one made for cotton fabric but I decided to choose this one since the dress had a higher percentage of polyester. I was worried that it wouldn’t take well or that it would be patchy because of that but it turned out beautifully! The packaging says the water must be heated the entire time but I didn’t have a pot large enough for that. Pouring enough boiling water into a large plastic container and constantly stirring for the required time did more than enough. I wish I had a picture to attach but the dye was completely even and matched the color represented on the bottle super well! Super easy and fairly quick too, just make sure to constantly stir your fabric.
Love the color
Just put it in some water in a pan with the stove on low. Turning with tongs about every fives minutes for half an hour. Then rinsed in stainless steel sink. Do not walk with rest of clothes for a lot of washes, if ever!
Good product
Good product. Worked as per the expectation.
