The colored stuffing has a little more dust than the white "ultra", but it keeps the odor under control just as well. The little bit of extra dust does not seem to affect my animals at all. They seem to enjoy their more festive environment with the confetti colors!
Great value, great product
The 22l that expands is about 26 in stores... so the value is clearly there. It does not smell, like wood does and is very comfortable for Hammie. I swapped out for Aspen bedding once, and he dealt with it, but I can tell with the paper bedding back he is much happier...he can burrow in the areas hes not using as the outhouse.
It didn't smell like poison to me(usually)
I sniffed it after reading some reviews. I also recently bought the carfcarefresh ultra. Between the two I would say this one had less odor. It didn't smell like poison to me. Maybe I'm lucky we will see once I need order more.Update : I have ordered a second package and seems ok still. I'll keep ordering.Update 2: 11/5/15: Just wanted to add that for some reason the size of the paper shredding has varied for me. Its normally not to big but one of my orders they were triple the normal shredded up sizing. It didn't effect much but I don't think my hamsters could dig as well that week. only happened once so far. So far still haven't had a odor problem either.Update 3: price on this moves around and while usually don't get odor i have gotten one that had much stronger odor than normal. No idea why..if you don't like gamble i would say go buy it locally.
I would not recommend this product for rats
Used this for rats over 9 months. I switched to Yesterdays News kitty litter. Have seen as instant reduction in sneezing for my fancy rats. I would not recommend this product for rats. It also gets tossed everywhere so it was annoying too. It did handle odor well though.
It's okay
Color will vary (ours was bright purple, yellow, and white). The smell was not pleasant when I opened the bag, but after putting it in the storage bin for a few days to breath it smells a little better. The pieces seem harder which is most likely due to the amount of dye they put in to get a deep color. My hedgehog likes the natural or white bedding since it is fluffier and he can dig in it better.
