Multi-platinum pop-star Mika has announced the release of his much anticipated new album ‘No Place In Heaven’. Mika has enlisted long-time collaborator and Grammy nominated producer Gregg Wells (Katy Perry, Pharrell, Adele, Rufus Wainwright) to produce the album. The pair have created a mature new record that exhibits Mika’s incredible song writing talents and breath-taking vocals, evoking memories of classic 70s pop along the way. This album comes in a jewel case with a 16 page coloured booklet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic album for my commute
This sounds great. Some of the songs take on the feeling of emerging into the sunlight or other very pleasant experiences. It fills my car with great sound and is now my favourite Mika album, although I never heard it first time around.Maybe the album takes on more meaning all these years down the line as we emerge from the pandemic but lots still to be done.
5.0 out of 5 stars We love this album - a return to the brighter boppy style of his first two albums with plenty of good tracks
We have and love Mika's other three albums, particularly the first two Life in Cartoon Motion (2007) and The Boy Who Knew Too Much (2009). The whole family like his songs: mum, dad, and my daughter 21 and son 19. Our fave tracks from the earlier albums are Grace Kelly, Lollipop, Happy Ending, Blame it in on the girls, We are Golden, Rain and Toy Boy. Seen on-line comments suggesting that Mika is trying to move away from the 'camp' style of his first two albums, an odd comment really as the songs in these albums are as much about girls as boys. That said this doesn't seem to be the case, as if some of the tracks on 'No Place in Heaven' were any more camp, they would be called Butlins - so a return to top form in our book after the softer third album The Origin Of Love (2012) (that's still a great album though). There is also the non-deluxe version of 'No Place in Heaven' that doesn't include the four bonus tracks 12-15, so avoid that as Promiseland, Porcelain, Good Guys/Night Time remix, and L'amour Fait Ce Qu'il Veut are superb. In fact this whole album really swings, almost like it's one great track from beginning to end - I defy you not to rock from side to side when listening. That said Good Guy's, Last party, No place in heaven, Talk about you, All she wants, Hurts and Promiseland do stand out (check them out on Youtube). The UK Deluxe Edition CD album's nicely presented with a 3 page folding cardboard sleeve and a 10 page booklet that has artwork and all the lyrics. If you buy the cheaper standard CD you can purchase the four bonus tracks as downloads, and perhaps add in the fun French 'Boum Boum Boum' as well (which was a bonus track on the French Deluxe Edition, and featured in the 2015 comedy hit movie Spy).Musical taste is a very personal thing, but this album does it for me, so 5* - I guess I like hypnotic beats and great lyrics (being an O.M.D. fan). I always buy the CD and rip to Apple Lossless (ALAC, top quality sound), and listen via an Arcam rPAC DAC and my Grado SR125 HiFi headphones - which is worth the effort when songs are written and produced to this quality. Fave track on this album - just about all of them, although the french lyrics on L'amour Fait Ce Qu'il Veut are sadly lost on me, as unlike Mica I don't speak a zillion languages. A great album and a totally safe buy for any Mika fan (file under Popular). If you can't find this Deluxe Edition on Bolo, try Mika's official store at shop.mikasounds.com. Personally I don't find Mika's lyrics particularly sad, they just reflect the human condition - if I want sad I watch Supernatural (if it's the end of the world, let's party). Mika's been compared to many artists, but to me his music most reminds me of Leo Sayer at his creative peak in the 1970s, no bad thing (my daughter adores his track 'One man band').Mica (pronounced Mika) was born in 1983 in war torn Beirut with a Lebanese mum and American dad, he moved to Paris as a baby but fortunately for us, he ended up in London aged 9, and now, like Freddy Mercury, he counts as one of our own.If we are all in the gutter, it doesn't change who we are'cause some of us in the gutter are looking up at the stars ..
5.0 out of 5 stars Pure genius pop!!!!
MIKA Hasn't failed to disappoint yet again with his concoction of music to form yet another genius pop record which definitely outdoes his last album. It may perhaps be my favorite album of his yet - especially as in this album, he breaks the 'audience-artist' barrier, getting into personal issues which have shaped him and more so some issues he has/ is still facing. This album has every emotion there is and will for whatever mood you are in. He has a range of songs (as versatile as he is ) from heavy drumbeat songs to slow chilled tunes, to falsetto strumming , and even heart breaking songs. He really shows us how incredible of a singer he is with his amazing range. He truly is the world's greatest talent to have existed and I really want to experience him in live! His ability to tell a story in each song is beautiful andhe writes emotive lyrics ; telling a story which very few singers know how to do and in my opinion, mika does this best hands down . I could really go on forever about him and his voice and how great he is as a person. He IS one of the best songwriters alive (if not the best).A must buy.
4.0 out of 5 stars I love it. My favourite songs are the first
I love it. My favourite songs are the first, forth and the last, but I think is a good disc to listen to from the beginning till the end.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great vocals, lovely songs
Really like this album with more mature introspective songs (apart from girl you’re the devil which doesn’t appeal) and it repays listening to closely and many times. Mika just gets better and better.
5.0 out of 5 stars Underrated
Mika is heavily underrated. His music is refreshing, catchy and incredible. Whilst this might not have the hits of 'Grace Kelly' or 'Love Today', but it is probably his most complete album. It feels it belongs on the same collection. Yes he's more mature but the songs are great. Some of them are stunning'
5.0 out of 5 stars Heavenly tracks
