5.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this fabulous rice cooker as a Christmas Present
This rice cooker is brilliant. perfect rice everytime. My only mistake was to present it to the other half as a Christmas gift. BIG MISTAKE. No matter how well intentioned you are, your significant other (not a bloke obvs) will not appreciate it's functionality, it's low cost, it's ease of use, the brilliant results. Because guys this is NOT in Christmas pressie territory. You may as well book yourself straight into A&E.. Any other time of the year say "Look what I bought us for the house." and give her the rice cooker, you will be a hero. But for the love of God and all that is holy it's not a Chrimbo pressie.
5.0 out of 5 stars Rise of the Machines: A Story About a £22 Rice Cooker
I bought this mainly out of chronic laziness and a need to free up space on the hobs when I’m cooking, but it has become a left-field mainstay of the kitchen that I can hardly remember life without.Essentially it’s a medium-sized, not entirely unattractive silver box into which you dump rinsed rice and (approx. 1x-1.25x volume of) water, cover and flick a switch. Then about 20 minutes later, as if by magic, you have perfect rice.I often sit and wonder how the unit knows when the rice is cooked. Is it done by weight and a sensor of some sort? Is it sentient? Is this the rise of the machines or is it imbued with some sort of unholy dark magic? There's no obvious answer, and I’m not sure anybody truly knows. But ultimately I decide this route of thought is futile and choose to live in blissful ignorance and a world of well-cooked rice.It also comes with a plastic steaming basket so you can steam whatever it is you want to steam. It seats on top of the main bowl and works well, although you are sort of limited by the amount of rice/water being cooked, and the subsequent amount of steam produced. One of the most important things to note is to make sure you turn the power switch off at the back once it’s done, otherwise the “keep warm” heating element stays on and you end up with an overcooked bottom layer of rice. A well-intentioned function that is detailed in the user manual, just not very well executed (perhaps limited by the hardware the low price commands?). Just remember, even the Death Star had fatal flaws and I'm pretty sure that didn't cost £22.Anyway I digress, it's a complete bargain, basically.
4.0 out of 5 stars Cooks well but it's messy
I've wanted a rice cooker for a while but as I've never used one before I didn't want to spend a lot of I don't end up using it much. This seemed like a good buy, reasonable price and had several good reviews.I've used it loads since I got it so I've noticed a few things, despite having a rather large capacity to make big servings of rice, making just enough for two people the water spits out over the top and goes all over the counter. The rice also forms a skin at the bottom which can be a bit brown and tough. Despite this it is very simple to use and clean. I think it's a good starter rice cooker to try it out and get used to the way they work but ultimately I can't see this particular one being a permanent fixture in my kitchen. I'll get a bit more use out of it but then I'll upgrade for a better quality one.
5.0 out of 5 stars Cooks rice to perfection!
I’ve been using this rice cooker for over a year now, and it has been absolutely flawless! It cooks rice perfectly every time—light, fluffy, and never overcooked. The convenience is unbeatable, as I can just set it and forget it. It's also super easy to clean, making meal prep a breeze. After a year of consistent use, there have been no problems at all. Highly recommend this reliable and efficient rice cooker!
1.0 out of 5 stars Beware: Two Rice Cookers Failed Me—Don’t Make the Same Mistake!
If you're considering this rice cooker, I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. Though it might seem like a budget-friendly option, my experience has proven that sometimes you really do get what you pay for.The first one I bought worked fine for about three months. Then, without warning, it started smelling like something was burning and completely stopped working. I could no longer turn it on. Thankfully, Bolo's return policy allowed me to send it back.Thinking the first was just a fluke, I decided to try a second one. Sadly, it was only marginally better. After eight months, the switch that sets the cooker to cook mode started malfunctioning—it simply wouldn’t stay down and kept flipping back to warm mode. To make matters worse, this unit also began burning the rice at the bottom, which was incredibly frustrating. This experience has taught me that it's worth spending a little more for a reliable rice cooker. I’ll definitely be investing in a higher-quality product next time. Save yourself the hassle and skip this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good
I bought one and it went faulty after a couple of weeks! Customer service was great in replacing it.Good rice cooker, easy to use, easy to clean.
3.0 out of 5 stars The rice cooker is broken down.
I have never had such a bad experience buying a rice cooker and hardly used it twice and it's broken down. The quality is so bad and the base is burnt. Cannot use it now as it's not working. Such a bad experience. I cannot return it back as my son threw the box.
Well made, have 3 of them
I have other 2 of non stainless steel version of it. They all work flawlessly. In fact I modified the other one to have a smart control panel, instead of just a push button. The modified one has LCD display, can create bottom crust at varying degrees of caramelization , sings songs at the end of process, keeps warm automatically at the end of cooking. Can be set to keep warm from the beginning etc. SOOOO, I know this thing inside out. It is well made and worth the money.
